while I agree somewhat to this....it's ultimately the tax paying residents that are hit with this. Good for this Romanian shmuck for lining pockets or what have you but both sides can be blamed.

Double Devil's Advocate and calling out subtle racism.

Then why's everyone mad at Silky for getting paid and the Guy the COA over-pays for their lease?

Both true, but if he's using political connections to unjustly enrich himself at the expense of the taxpayers, he deserves the criticism too.

well that's kind of exactly why the stories are getting traction

the thing is, it's highly unlikely that anyone can be right so often without some sort of help, and that's what REALLY is getting these stories traction. the possibility that there is impropriety makes the story juicy, just like the SWB spoils system with the BRAVE money

Not saying you are racist. just that there are quite a few posters defending these transactions and the parties involved whereas it was an all out pitchfork mob when the COA lease agreements came to light and now again with BRAVE.

All of this indicates that our mayor and our city-council doesn't give a flying flip about wasting taxpayers money.

Look what that last mayor Council did, they enabled the COA vote to be put on the ballot.

They enabled this guy to receive public property for 20 cents on the dollar or less.

The current regime is handing out no bid deals to all their friends.

Guys and gals, this has to be the tip of the ice berg. You have to know its been going on and it just now we hear about the deals.

As long as one faction leaves the other along, they all scratch each other's back.

These things go through in the light of day because we count on our mayor and council people to look out after us, but obviously they do not.

But these 'steals' are stealing money from EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH.

You should be outraged at these 'steals' as you are about the BRAVE contracts or COA lease agreements.

Y'all are fricking retarded if you think this was just 'smart business'.

In my personal defense, I'm not a resident of BR - I'm simply on the outside looking in at all of the frickery

I think public land sells need to be handled outside of Govt influence.

public land sales should be given to a 3rd party company where they make a commission off of the sale. Thus an incentive for the 3rd party to sell it for as much as possible.
