re: BR DA recusing his office from Sterling case

Under the picture of Moore in the Advocate Online it states "Moore said evidence from body cameras and the police vehicle vindicate the actions of the officers."
Nothing else about it mentioned in the article. Has anyone seen any other videos besides the 2 that were circulating a couple days back?

while they are here can they go check out the corruption of that DA in north louisiana, Jerry Jones
He'd throw the book at these two cops. Poor Alton had been out in the heat all day.

I'd be shitting my pants if I was those two cops.
The DOJ, under Holder, who is much more radical than Lynch, absolved Darren Wilson of any wrongdoing.

It is neither of those things. Read the report or look a few posts up. He is recusing under Supreme Court dicta. None of the actual peremptory rules requiring recusal were implicated. I'm relying on his report to draw that conclusion. His reasoning would result in his disqualification in every case involving police-defendants in this community.
You and everyone else in this thread relying on logic as above is being disingenuous at best. If you want to try to argue that this case is like every other one prosecuted daily then go ahead but you know damn well it isn't. Any decision other than recusal opens Hillar, his office, the 19th JDC and the city of Baton Rouge to unlimited criticism. This decision isn't made in a vacuum. Given the circumstances, it is the obvious call.

I am critical of his decision because it is politically motivated. Hillar doesn't want this case because he thinks it is a losing proposition for him. His justification is weak. He should just say that his office doesn't want to handle it because it divides the community that is going to vote on whether he should keep his job. We all know that's what is going on here. That's why that report is bullshite, and I knew it would be when I read it. Let's say Salamoni died on duty. Do you think Hillar recuses himself from the prosecution of his murderer because he knew the guy's parents? The legal basis is bullshite.

Hillar doesn't want this case

We all know that's what is going on here

If I'm the officers, I don't think it is the right move. The people making the decision regarding my case are not accountable to this community. If I'm those seeking justice, I have the same problem. The only one that wins in this scenario is Hillar. His "personal relationship" is not one that would result in recusal.

And, like I said, there was no video evidence either.
I think Obama is going to be a loose cannon over the next 6 months and will do everything he can to put his thumb in the scales on his way out. He's going all out on the posterity front.

How long before we hear one of these bright, upstanding rabble rousers say "how come he ain't refuse hisself when Boosie was on trial?"

Obama is looking a lot like Dr. Frankenstein these days, i.e., a man who's created a monster he can no longer control.

No it isn't. He's making a call that is not one of the objective standards for recusal. "I worked with his Dad on murder cases while district attorney" is not "by law" a relationship which demands recusal unless you are Charlie Kelly.

Well we have idiots here protesting because of it. Anything is possible.
Seems bizarre to me too.

And this is why your opinion is moot, you readily admit your mind was made up from the beginning. The sad part is that you didn't realize that as you were typing.

Probably revealing that he drew down on officers during his 2009 arrest. There's a thread on that.

I say again, RUMOR. But I have heard this from multiple people. I am not a special person with magical sources. Simply someone who is 3 generations deep from BR area
