I'm sure his office has investigated plenty of cases involving people he's had relationships with, much less they're parents. I like Hillar, just seems like passing the buck.

Not really something a registered Democrat DA would like to be involved in I guess.

1. This isn't other cases.

2. It's the responsible thing to do in any case.

Probably, but it makes him look weak. Along with the stuttered written announcement. Just a bad look for him imho

No, it's the smart and right move. You can either have the feds looking over your shoulder and passing blame, or you can make them accountable for the outcome. Chances this goes into next presidential term before prosecuted? 50/50

Don't fricking run for office then. No Law and Order D.A. would ever give up jurisdiction so easily.

It's actually a smart move. DOJ will investigate. Then they will turn the case back over to the State. And then Hillar has already recused himself.

Running scared from this one. While I understand his reticence to do his job, what good is having a district attorney if he's going to shrink from difficult cases in this community. The hallmark of our Republican form of government is that local disputes are resolved locally. Now we have a situation where local disputes that are complicated get turned over to unelected people outside of the community.

Yea, smart move. It takes the legs out from under BLM when the feds say its justified.
They will likely try to scrub their support for sir alton the rapist, once it all comes out that he had drugs and a gun on him. The left and BLM will move on to another loser of a cause.

Didn't the officer in Ferguson get off with the DOJ?

They've probably been worried, but now that it's fully in the hands of a group out to crucify white cops, it has probably been bumped up a few notches.

had they found reason to charge officers he would have done it. The fact that there probably isn't reason to charge them, he will let the feds handle that to take that heat off the city! SMART SMART!

Well then. Let the DOJ and Obummers justice department weather the outcome. BR is looking very transparent due to this move.
