Say what you will about Atlanta but if you look at a map it is situated perfectly for an outdoor person. Close to the beaches (gulf or Atlantic) waterfalls, beautiful mountains and lakes. It’s a great area. Close to Charlotte and Nashville too.
Oh, and you get 4 seasons plus plenty of professional sports and great places to eat.

Are they focusing more on expansion on the east coast? Atlanta is an interesting choice. I know Canes went to DFW, but they also expanded out west as well.
With a relocation like this, you would think the short list is made of cities with airports with direct flights to where you’re doing business.
A) Airport hub cities in the south/southeast, relatively centrally located to your restaurants (so Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte—Miami probably eliminated due to length of flights/lack of central location)
B) educated workforce pool for new hires/established other company HQ in the same industry in the city—Probably eliminated Charlotte (Known for banking/retail/manufacturing but not restaurant/franchise HQ’s)
C) attractive city for both single folks (events/nightlife) and people with kids (good public schools in areas with reasonably affordable housing.
So basically no where in Louisiana. I’m guessing they have more existing and future restaurants on the east coast (compared to the southwest/western US) which swayed them to pick Atlanta. Or they just got better tax incentives to relocate there (vs Houston or Dallas).

I didn't get TOPS because it wasn't around then but it's hard to blame people who need (or want) to leave for better opportunities and quality of life elsewhere.
Most of them or their parents paid taxes in this state too.

Walkons would have the best Cajun food in Charlotte, NC if they opened one today. Probably the same would be true for any city not in Louisiana or the gulf coast (strictly talking about Cajun food, not fresh seafood in general).
You would be surprised at the slop passed off as “Cajun” in states other than Louisiana (with the exception of SE Texas and southern MS and AL). I saw an offering of jambalaya where they cook the rice separate from the meat/veggies and mixed together later. Gumbo with either too light of a roux, no roux at all, or even the color/taste/consistency of a can of rotel.

McAlister's HC'd in Ridgeland before moving to Atlanta. They all move to Atlanta if they're successful chains.

Ding Ding, Airport center hub. Shave off all the connection flights and turn more hours building the brand.
Charlotte has an incredible incentive driven business climate. There are probably more future board members and executives living there than anywhere in SE US.

I never cared for it. They don’t offer anything that’s very insightful and they don’t really give you scoop. I always thought it was more of an advertising rag that threw some week old business news in to call itself the business report.

They're giving you money to come to LSU or any other school in the state. That's where the stipulations stop.
If you aren't a fan, work on getting the rules changed and see how many kids decide to stay in state knowing they can't leave for 5 years after.

Doesn't this show canes and walk ons are not serious a out showing love for Louisiana?
But Atlanta is a fun place . Wish I could move there and go to brewery. They have 5 sports , food, and amusement park

Well, if you are a taxpayer or your parents are than you paid for TOPS too.
I don't know what exactly you are supposed to do if you graduate in a field that's basically non-existent in LA?
