Boy or girl dog

Going to be a first time single dog dad. What should I go with, male or female?

Sometimes it's therapeutic to look a girl straight in the eyes and say "you stupid bitch" and have her wag in loving approval

Female, neutered. Much easier to train/house train.

From mainly anecdotal experience I find bitches to be easier to train at a younger age which makes sense because they mature faster just like human females. That is the sole reason I would lean to a female for a person's first personal dog.

I like girl dogs. My family has a boy and girl and the girl is the bravest most alpha living being in that house. The boy dog is a runt and a wuss!

Male dog. Not even close. Have both and personalities are completely different. Male dog is a bro, who just follows me around all day, is always happy-go-lucky, and sleeps non stop. Female dog is a bitch (no pun intended). She’s moody, gets her feelings hurt all the time, and whines/barks when she’s not getting her way.

I started out with a female boxer ,but the litter I got her from all 7 were female. Then I got a male boxer from a rescue. He was already house trained when I got him ,and it wasn't hard to train my female as a pup. Both are great dogs so I guess flip a coin and go with it.

I believe they were put here to teach us a lesson. About a love we don’t deserve and a goodbye we can’t avoid. They’ll outlast relationships, and when you are at your lowest point they’ll come to drag you back from the brink of despair with wet kisses and slobbery tennis balls.
They teach us how to accept unconditional love, and give it back, even if we know our time together is fleeting. They teach us how to laugh, how to listen, and in the end, how to let go.
They are our companions in this journey through life, walking with us but a short while but guiding us forever, until we reach the end of our own path. And I like to think that, when we get there, they’ll be waiting.
Dammit. I miss my dog.

I have two young girls, so that factored into my decision, but after having male and female dogs, I find that I prefer female dogs, especially at the early training stage. Don't have to worry about them peeing on your furniture --- and that alone is worth something.
And plus, they like to "dress her up" and she doesn't seem to shy away from it.

I've only owned male dogs. They are dominant so in order to train them you have to be the alpha. I have enough women to deal with in the house. Don't need another one.
