We have some data

We have no idea what we do and don't have, particularly with a novel outbreak in the US that is finding its legs only now.

Seems pretty silly to proclaim we've already put to bed questions regarding people in borderline category, in a new country, with a novel virus.

A lot of people expected this because, while I won't say it's impossible, the evidence doesn't indicate people are just dropping dead from COVID-19 like this.

Some on this board would argue against you that it's worse than the black plague.

wonder why the national media is so quick to sensationalize every death they can as being even remotely connected to coronavirus.
To keep the country shut down.

You can successfully celebrate this young woman's death now.

I am not celebrating her death. How could you possibly make this leap?

You are aware the media was saying that she died from the corona virus before any test result or the coroner made that claim. That is irresponsible as are you.

I mean, seems kind of relevant to know if younger, relatively healthy people are dying suddenly from coronavirus, doesn't it?

No issue with the testing IMO

the first test wasn't good enough?

From my recollection of the article (I read it earlier this morning) she was tested a week or so ago and it came back negative. Her symptoms changed, got worse, or whatever, so she got tested again. While waiting on the results from the second test she died. Looks like the results from the second test just came back negative. So no, they didn't test a dead person.

Nope. She had the first test. She died. First test results came back negative. Then they retested after her death.

They also got shite on by the dad of the 17-year-old who died. The media immediately claimed it was COVID-19 and the dad put them in their place and said he died of heart failure, not the virus.

Is this the same death of a 17 year old that was just mentioned in the governor's press conference?

For the healthcare worker it wasn't just 2 tests performed they had the specimen from 1st test that was negative retested by Labcorp which came up negative a 2nd time and also sent off a completely new test to a University doing tests that came back negative. 2 specimens but basically 3 tests performed

I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. I will post quotes from the article on foxnews (not sure how to post the link, it's been awhile since I tried).

quote:

Woman with suspected coronavirus symptoms dies while waiting for test results, boyfriend claims

A woman in New Orleans, La., died while she was waiting for the results from a coronavirus test after she experienced symptoms of the novel virus, or COVID-19, her boyfriend claims.

Anderson claims that Ott first complained of feeling unwell earlier this month, on March 10. At the time, the woman told him she was experiencing cold-like symptoms and a “tiny fever.”

Ott, a social worker, told Anderson that the medical clinic where she worked, Crescent Care, had some coronavirus tests available, but she declined to take one because she was considered low-risk and wanted to leave as many tests available for those in desperate need. But Ott’s condition continued to deteriorate. She tested negative for the flu and eventually received a coronavirus test about a week after falling ill, on March 16. She was reportedly told she would receive the results in about five days.

“She did complain that she felt like 'something' was in her lungs. She also mentioned that her coronavirus test results were delayed, and likely wouldn't come back until Monday,” he wrote.

Ott’s coronavirus test results are reportedly still pending.

So she died and they were still waiting on the results.

Did she try calling 911? I didn't see that in the story. If I were having a heart attack and no one was home with me, I would call 911. Not saying she had a heart attack, but it seems odd the boyfriend finds her body in the kitchen and she was good enough to walk the dog the day before.

A. Why not test a dead person? It’s called an autopsy. You goofy bastards are going on about a post death nasal swab? They can swab, get blood, blend down her lower lung tissue and culture that for the virus?

In addition, the ME better be on his/her game. Could be a good time to kill a SO. Especially a health care worker. And ESPECIALLY if the husband is a healthcare worker too. Paralytics, insulin, epinephrine, narcotics? In the middle of the chaos that New Orleans health care must be a few missing meds or leftovers after a code? Who is gonna miss that?

Maybe I’ve been watching too much First 48. Lol

You are confusing the beginning. She was tested for the flu, that came back negative. She could have been tested for covid19 by her work, but she declined because they were short. She then gets tested much later. She dies. The test comes back negative. The doctor says no way, they retest it again.

These test were rushed out, not blind checked etc. I know several people that have negative results and the doctors are telling them to just assume they really have it. Blood test is only definitive test
