I was going to post some statistics about the amount of mail the USPS loses each year, but there is so much information about the dismal performance of the post office I couldn't decide where to even start.

I don't care about the murderers, but I sure as hell feel sorry for whatever Jamoke had to clean up the aftermath of Carlos Combustible. Ugh. Just imagine that smell while you're cleaning

What's the problem? They tried to do it less painfully and it didn't work out. Tough shite.

I'm sure that guy was a former jizz mopper who was looking for state employee benefits. He's probably cleaned thrown feces at the prison so toasty skin aint so bad. Hell, surgery smells like burned skin the entire time because of the use of a Bovie.

Jimmy Lee Gray anally raped and murdered a 3 year old girl, after being paroled on the murder conviction of a 16 year girl.

I'm not a death penalty supporter, but it doesn't bother me very much that his execution was botched and he died in a horrifying manner.

The only botched execution is the one that the prisoner walks out of the chamber and has to be rescheduled for having.

Amounts of shite given for these animals: zero.

Disagree. There have been innocent people executed. The chances are high the legal system gets it right, but damn if I can't get over the fact we could make someone that did nothing wrong suffer a slow painful death. Again, the chances are slim for both occurrences happening, but they aren't nonexistent, and I can't agree with it because of that.

Furthermore, death is easy. Everyone does it, and has no choice in the matter. These prisoners should be producing and giving some sort of monetary compensation to the family of the victim. Vengeance is way overrated. Monetary gains, improving your life, and doing good in the world despite your deed is the much better payback to society (even if you're locked in a fence) - not to mention the fact any person found not guilty later on was only holding a shitty job for the time being.

Firing squad and long drop hanging should be the only methods of execution in the United States.

I don't think anyone takes issue with others being dealt the horrors they brought on others, but there's this that I can't get over:

quote:

Since 1973, 144 people on death row have been exonerated. As a percentage of all death sentences, that's just 1.6 percent. But if the innocence rate is 4.1 percent, more than twice the rate of exoneration, the study suggests what most people assumed but dreaded: An untold number of innocent people have been executed.

What kind of people are we if you say: "Hey, it's just a few innocent people getting murdered by the state, possibly facing a long agonizing death".. I mean there have been serious doubts on many executions. A jury of your peers consists of everyone most people hate here, at least half anyway. You think they're infallible?

Really? 1879 is what you're going to bring up? Sheesh.. Anything more current than that? You have multiple trained shooters aiming at your heart at the same time, the chances are statistically non-existent they miss with today's munition/scope technology.

Not sure if it's posted anywhere in this monster of a thread, but an excellent book on botched executions is The Execution of Willie Frances. This was around the late 1940s in Evangeline Parish in South Louisiana. Willie was executed once, but Ole Smokey didn't kill him. After arcing and sparking Willie for a good long spell, they turned off the chair, and Willie was taken back to prison. His lawyers filed appeals stating that the state's act of execution was complete, Willie had fortuitously survived, and further attempts to kill him would be the equivalent of double jeopardy. The LASC disagreed, and the USSC denied writs. Willie was thereafter hauled back into Ole Smokey and roasted this time until he died. The book's review of the evidence supporting his guilt reveals it is very likely he did not commit the crime alleged.
