A majority of who you call “They” don’t care. Any idiot that goes to a powder keg strapping and gets between law enforcement isn’t too bright.
What I see is a mayor, governor, and other local politicians stroking this thing to get a reaction and continuously doubling down. The issue started with ICE arresting illegal criminals. The above government officials decided to roadblock and refuse to support, exacerbating the situation. They are 100% culpable.

Based on the videos and everyone’s reactions, I think that’s probably the most likely scenario.
And the agent was 100% correct in disarming Pretti based on what he probably knew at the time.
