I’ve seen videos of perps running away then turning around to murder a cop or grab a hostage and kill an innocent person.

How can you expect cops to fight for their lives then stop fighting for their lives in an instant if the guy looks like he is going to run away? He also looked like he was going to peacefully put his hands behind his back until he didn’t.

It’s always easy for people like you to pass judgement from the comfort and safety of your recliner.

That’s your prerogative.
Cops are trained to eliminate the threat when a weapon is brandished. The guy made the move to use the weapon, in the heat of the moment you can’t hold it on the cop that he knew how many times the taser was used. His partner was attacked by a man with a weapon. He took the threat out.
Furthermore the dead guy is dead because he didn’t give a frick about his own life. He’s been in that situation before, he knows damn well if you pull that kind of stunt there’s a good chance you can get killed. For that reason, I can’t feel bad for the guy. What’s bothersome is that the da, who works with officers and detectives daily, pressed charges. In a normal situation the guy would walk, but we’re in a non normal situation, very race driven, very high profile case; to get an impartial jury will be impossible. This could end up like the oj trial, except the races are reversed and the defendant could be found guilty.

That point is moot, anyway. When the officer first attempted to use the taser as they were fighting with the guy on the ground, he used it in stun mode. In that mode, it wouldn't necessarily use a cartridge. However, we know the taser wasn't empty because when the guy turned and pointed the taser, it actually fired toward the officer but missed.

The cops admitted immediately after the shooting that they were aware both shots had been discharged and the tazer was not a threat. They clammed up after that because of how incriminating it looked.

That’s great and all but imo he did what he had to do. If I was a cop and some dumb frick gets that far into resisting that he has a weapon and attempts to do harm to my partner, the guy that’s resisting is going to die.

ETA: Something that bothered me about your response, you act as if they abused this guy then shot him in the back in cold blood. If you can’t see and understand this situation and how it unfolded then you don’t want to.

I 100% think cops need more and better training, but if you are literally in a street fight (started by the suspect) and he starts running away then turns his body and aim a gun-like object in your direction, most anyone would shoot. Had the suspect not escalated the situation to a physical altercation, stolen the taser then tried to turn and use it on the officer, he would have never been shot.

But the same DA told us tasers are a deadly weapon? It for sure is a weapon. The suspect for sure aimed it at the officer (cop is a derogatory word).

It’s bullshite when people disregard blatant facts in situations like this to sway opinion. You can say you wouldn’t have or you believe they shouldn’t have. Those are opinions. The courts will decide if it was lawful.

I always leave my wife and family (you know the ones I was convicted of abusing and neglecting), get drunk and pass out in the Wendy’s drive thru getting food for my girlfriend who will eventually burn said Wendy’s down. Then, I like to let police wake me up without even knowing what city I am in. When they try to peacefully arrest me, after blowing beyond the legal limit, I remember I am still on parole and I attack them, steal their weapon and discharge it, then I run but not before turning around and shooting the device at the officer trying to apprehend me as a fleeing convicted felon who also just committed multiple additional felonies.

Argue George Floyd all you want. That was police injustice regardless of his past and crimes he allegededly committed that day.

This is like people saying Tamar Rice was a kid with a toy gun. Which I literally just read.

He was a 12 year old that was reported in detail down the the clothing parcel and confirmed on video to be pointing a pistol (which later turned out to be an Airsoft pistol with the orange cap on the end removed leaving no way to tell the difference from 9’ away..I dare you..try it) at people walking by. He then walked toward the police car as they arrived (video) with his hand in his waste belt. He lifted his hand in his shirt and was shot. Maybe they shouldn’t have shot ...the jury disagreed.

STOP. Misleading crap like this is creating more and more hate. Amazing how people wanting a group of people not to be judged by the way they look or actions of a few will degrade an entire other group of people for the uniform they put on when they are simply trying to enforce the laws that are being broken. The police are just as imperfect as the Black and White and other races they represent. No evidence says they are any more. None.

This war on police is a political deflection that avoids any accountability for the facts or even the true socio-political reasoning why one race in our country commits three times the number violent crimes per capita.

Fight for the end of public housing projects. Protest the local leadership that allows crappy schools and education. Raise funds for role model programs not hate groups. Stop allowing music that is degrading to women and those that create it to be role models. Social welfare is what keeps this circle going yet the leadership elected keeps it flowing. The party voted in by the Black population at 88% without question, will keep those social programs going as long as they keep getting elected.
