You are speaking of a loop, so many folks here would have no reference point to understand that.
To folks from BR, it is like flying cars. They have been told for 50 years that they would have one by now.

With the state of our government entitlements now, even the welfare folks can afford to dine out and go to theme parks - and it shows.

Ever notice how the people on food stamps are fat?

We have lost the ability to shame behavior. If you called out people for wearing pajama pants in public you would be the one with your back against the wall. Time to cull the herd a bit

Fat, dressed like bums,
Was there last summer, can confirm..
We were on the Wave Breaker, thing that looks like jet skis, a little girl was on it with her dad. Dad is too fat, can't get the safety bar down, dad couldn't ride, little girl is embarrassed. I told them I'd be responsible for her, dad said ok, she got to ride the ride.

We were in Hill Country at the JW Marriott before we went downtown and stayed on the river. That pool area is awesome.

The new American culture. As trashy as you want to be, and possibly get rewarded for it.
My daughter and I were searching online for Mother’s Day gift ideas when this popped up….

How trashy of a mother are you to think this is cute/funny? Worse, how fricking trashy are your children to even consider buying this for their mother?

Funny thing about your observations is that 3/4 of those people probably voted for trump.

Ok now do 99% of the black welfare queens who voted for Biden

My question is, how the hell do they afford it. Any theme/ thrill park is outrageously expensive! You would think the high prices would keep the riftraff out!
Maxed out credit cards, financing vacations with personal loans, mooching off of federal handouts, etc.

Yep. A basic truck or SUV is 50k now which means like 25% of the general population can afford them. People are just in debt up to their eyeballs.

First our crawfish, now our confederacy

Catholic masses where I live are still full of normal people living productive lives. I’m sure other churches are the same.
I don’t know how we turn this thing around. Just all have to keep doing our own part and ignore what we can’t change.

This is not anything new. Throughout human history the spectacles have attracted the masses of the lower rungs of society.

Usually your replies are somewhat funny, but lately most haven’t made sense

Call me cheap, but I may never own a brand new car/truck ever again

I'm fortunate that my kids are older now and we were able to experience the theme parks between ~1996 to 2008.
Did several of the major ones all across the country.
Haven't been to one since. I can only imagine how things have changed.
