Asbestos is a problem for people in the long term. Old people don't tend to live that much longer.

They'd be better off knocking the thing down and rebuilding.

Smart, they’ll die of old age before they die of asbestos inhalation and cancer

Is your Nanna refusing to die? Send her on over to Asbestos Gables and she won’t last 6 months. Less if it falls down.

I was worried this was about the Nakatomi Plaza tower.

Carry on.

And in two years.....

Rinse, lather, repeat.

The buyer will determine that it’s too expensive to renovate and start looking for a another buyer.

The site has been a safety concern due to debris falling from the building and homeless people accessing the abandoned site.

Such an ugly arse building renovated or not.

So is the International Trade Mart aka World Trade Center and they made a Four Seasons out of it. Such an ugly arse building on prime real estate. A head scratcher for sure.

So you're saying there's a chance?

That building is structurally unsound from what I've been told. There's a reason it has not been used in over 30 years. Also asbestos.

The asbestos issue was taken care of around 2010 and from what I saw of the building. It looked like everything had been stripped out down to the concrete walls other than plumbing and electrical

That's a good head start, but it'll likely need a full new envelope and it's all irrelevant if the structure is compromised.

Gibbs is generally rather reputable as far as projects he's taken on and completed, and the fact that he's staking his name to it at least piques my curiousity.

Gibbs had the deal almost made years ago. Already had the plans and details worked out, then passed on the deal and let Jaeger have it.

Gibbs has the highest probability of making it a reality.

I'd bet on him succeeding.
