I think the idea is that for those without coverage for regular, routine health maintenance, poor people (or just people without insurance coverage) let issues fester until they have to go to the ER because they can't afford to go see a doctor, which means we all eat those costs anyway
Who doesn't have coverage? Obamacare makes it easy.
No, they go to the emergency room so they don't get a bill for their deductible.
I had to take a friend to LSUS a decade or so ago when I was down there. It was full of people who just didn't feel well. Took him 6 hours to see a nurse.

Well, that will probably all change now that they've got that new holiday. Expect the ER to be less crowded going forward.

You say this 1 day after the Supreme Court voted to deny objections to Obamacare...

White people have the luxury of seeing how they feel and going to their PCP if they have lingering issues. Black people don't have that. They are often reliant on emergency care due to healthcare injustice in this country. They also face a justice system that doesn't provide them the benefit of the doubt when they're the victims of negligence, particularly when their injuries are the fault of white drivers. This only furthers the need for them to seek immediate medical care and obtain documentation of their injuries. Factor in the systemic bias in insurance claims processing (which discounts the harm experienced by black Americans in favor of antiquated white-dominated systems like medical records, etc.) - it's a recipe for injustice.
Is any of what you said not complete and total bullshite?

Okay, but if we are talking about insurance, I think the problem is with the lawyers who are chasing after people..
I guy I crew up with, his daddy is a lawyer. One time he told me that him and his daddy stopped to get gas.. And there was this drunk.. Some black guy.. who knew his daddy and vice versa. He asked his daddy if he had some extra money on him. He grabs some change he had in his car and gave it to him..
When he came back to the car he asked his daddy "why did you give him money"... He said his daddy looked at him and said "I've made over $300k off of him, I figured I would give him some change".
With all of these car crash stats.. Anything on the Asian women?

Can't "one call, that's all" without some medical bills

This about lawsuits or is this about blacks being in more serious car accidents for various reasons?
Could be both.

It’s weird how black males are so feminine with their obsession of accessories.
It’s not weird when you consider the percentage of black males being raised in single mother homes surrounded by other black males being raised in single mother homes.

I wonder what percentage are actually injured.
I watched a man and three kids get in an ambulance after an accident in front of a Sonic. All were eating an ice cream cone as they got in the ambulance.

I worked in an ER for years so I fixed it for you
Most blacks don't have primary care physicians. The ER is their PCP. That's why the BRG midcity closed a couple years back. They were losing about a million dollars a month.
Hospital ER's are nothing more than entrances to guide bad debt into your building!

Hence why the ER at mid city closed after the Earl closed. And why the Lake looks like visiting day at Angola.

Hospital ends up eating the bill.
Eh, you can bet it gets passed along to the healthcare consumer.
And how is that? People who have insurance don't get anything passed along to them. Hospitals are contracted with insurance companies and for the most part, get paid a per diem, no matter what services are provided. There are exceptions, but it's mostly per diem. Medicare and Medicaid patients rates are per discharge (a lump of money for the hospital to manage their stay) and it doesn't really matter how much the hospital charges. All those $5 aspirins you hear about...don't make a singe bit of difference.
The hospital mostly eats this bad debt. They budget for it and try to guess how much will come through these doors. They do what they can to make it as cost effective as possible. Some ER's even have walk in clinic type area that are staffed differently from their regular ER to lower cost.

Problem is that you can’t necessarily budget for it depending on the demographics of your area.
Hence General Midcity closing their ER for years.
