Except the whole "her answers matched someone else's very closely".

Uhh, why did the principal call you into his office and make you go pick up someone at the airport?
He must have thought his time was more valuable than mine, airport was 60 miles away. On the other hand, maybe it was a test to see if I would steal his car and head to the beach.

I wonder if retesting is still done today?
Happens very often, if they don’t believe your score is valid, you can take the exam again. If the new test score falls in a range close enough for them to compare to the suspect score, they’ll let you keep the questionable score (if there’s no clearcut evidence of cheating involved). Most of these type cases occur because the student showed up for the first exam unprepared or pouting because momma made them get up early on a Saturday morning, so they bomb it. They later realize that they need a good score, so they prep a little or take it more seriously, creating a score discrepancy.
They also have a computer program that can determine the odds that you cheated off of someone, and it’s pretty damn accurate. This evidence is then cross-referenced with the seating chart that the test admin submits for the test room. If little Sally is flagged by the system as a possible cheater, the seating chart is eval’ed and if she is in visual range of the other person with similar patterns of answers, she fricked. What sucks is—so is the other person, guilty or not.

In this day in age it’s basically impossible to cheat on these tests.

I wonder if she studied or cheated, 300+ points is a substantial increase.
Not really. She says she didn't prepare for the test the first time. She hit the books hard afterwards and also took SAT classes. A large part of doing well on that test can hinge on knowing how to give yourself the best odds of getting questions right. Just learning how to answer questions you don't know the answer to can lead to a decent increase. A significant portion of the SAT class I took was spent on learning how to eliminate wrong answers on questions you didn't know to give yourself a better shot at guessing the right one. Between studying and gaming the test 300 points should be attainable for a person who went in cold w/little effort put towards prep on their first try.

She cheated, for sure. They'll cave because they don't want a hint of racism cast their way. College Board makes a lot of money by pushing minorities to take AP and IB courses, as well as their other college evaluation exams. They make at least $150 for every AP/IB course, and a good bit from SAT exams. The teenager might not be the most apt pupil, but she's learned how to play the race card. She'll grow up to me a mad black woman.

Imho, I don’t think they will. I’ve had multiple students, some probably innocent, some probably guilty of cheating, all minorities btw, and College Board’s & ACT’s stock response is “Tough shite, take it again.”

I read this story yesterday. What I don't get is why they hired a civil rights attorney? Is it racist to hold up scores to check for authenticity?
Two of my dumb arse Woodlawn buddies did this shite. Bombed the ACT so they paid two honor student friends(I said frick no!) to take it for them the next time. This was easy to pull off back then at Trafton(dunham) on Test Day.
But Going from a 15 to a 28 got them alllll 4 in trouble.

I’d say, unless you have proof, that’s my test and that’s my score or I’ll see you in court.

I cheated on the act and got a 29 on the reading section without reading the material. So yes it’s possible and yes she 100% cheated.

I hope she achieved the higher score in the right way. But, I have a question about getting a lawyer that threatens a civil rights violation. Serious question because I don't know - does the SAT know the race of the students taking the test? Is that part of the information they get on each test taker?
