Probably overbooked the flight. Probably bought a ticket that wouldnt guarantee a seat if overbooked just to have the discount.

or 30 minutes before it boards?

During Easter, United put me on an earlier flight that left in 15 mins and got my bag transferred and everything.

Perhaps Frontier and their agents just suck

If the roles were reversed not only would they allowed the person to check in, they would have called the gate to hold the plane, upgraded to 1st class, given the person a personal escort and stock options.

My in laws were flying out of Huntsville Al airport and showed up exactly 59 minutes before their flight and were not allowed to check in. Airline said you are supposed to be there 90 minutes before flight but they allow 1 hour. 1 hour not 59 minutes. Told them there had to be a firm cutoff. They didn’t cause a scene just said ok and went home. Their son ended up using the flight credit at a later date. I can understand not checking someone in 30 minutes before a flight if they have luggage.

You should watch airport arrest videos.

Airport gate agents/workers give zero shits about race.

They hate everyone equally.

I too understand they have policy to follow. On the other hand that does not excuse their inability to act professional and represent the company they work for in a positive manner. Don’t like it? Don’t work in a position that is customer facing.

As I said on page 1. They should have heard his complaints, attempted to address it and calm him down. If he wants to act like the a-hole he is, call security, and ignore him. Don’t engage and make matters worse. (which I assume is also Frontier Airlines Policy)

No but they repeated what I think was an insult like 30 times.

Most airlines don’t let you check in that close to the flight. That is for legal reasons as the door closes 15 minutes before take off.

If he was trying to check a bag, that’s usually stopped at 45-60 minutes before the flight departure time.

Likely both sides of this are moronic.

1) he should have checked in online or on his phone before hand if he was running that late. That is likely their policy.

2) the check in agents are pure trash. Even if they were right about the policy, their behavior is pathetic and unacceptable. You don’t need context to understand all the people involved in this are morons.

The only thing that could have happened is he made it just in time and the agents either willfully slow played it to make sure he didn’t check in on time or they were incompetent and simply took too long and the system locked him out because it got to time.

Either way, all are stupid in this and it is hilarious to see all three of them holding their phones recording. What the hell has this world come to?

I always respect companies who somehow maintain good employees despite the local labor pool being terrible or stretched very thin. Most of the time, it's because the owner is either working there daily or is in close proximity or they are paying much higher than market wages.

Gate agents at massive airlines are all terrible. It's a terrible job, but the people who staff it are also terrible people most of the time. I can speak with experience here....but American Airlines is a joke. Their employees are rude, mumble out commands, and generally move at a snails pace.

But I've never seen full on crazy like what's in the video. Even if you can't help the customer due to policies out of your control, you should not ridicule them. There are cameras everywhere these days. A couple of shitty employees can really tarnish the company's brand. In this case, they probably could obtain a lot better quality employees with better pay and culture. That's very important for any customer facing role. It's honestly important for every role.

Happened to me many years ago. Got delayed due to an accident on the road shutting down traffic. Literally at the counter with 60 minutes to go, but during process, got to 59 minutes. Agent was like sorry, nothing we can do since you have checked bags.

Giving United credit, they put us on the next flight and all was fine. It happens, but that was their policy. I wasn’t happy about it, but it is policy and just bad luck we were delayed.

Or you have a better way of dealing with people than an idiot who starts to film empoyees trying to mask his own screw up.

Frontier is basically the greyhound of airlines, you get what you pay for there. I don’t have any sympathy for this guy. I don’t go to Popeyes and get mad at the employees when they are out of spicy chicken, I know the gamble I am taking when I step into the place.
