it'll only work if you can't tell a difference between the two.

Well, it's not going to work the way it is now for much longer.

That might work, but you are ripping a horn off of rhinos. Is that okay?

they're already doing that to protect rhinos and elephants

but you can kill them and feed poor people in africa, too. win-win.

I have some pasture land in north Mississippi.

Where could I buy a pack of black rhinos?

you can't. i think it's illegal to sell them for commercial purposes (to "protect" them)

A rhino pregnancy lasts 16-19 months

It would take a while but feasible

Will work if it's indistinguishable from the real thing and marketed as the real thing. In other words, a counterfeiting operation.

It's not a bad thing to make money, it's actually a good idea. Just don't tell everyone that you are doing it save the rhino.

Visited an orphanage on the western border of Uganda near the Congo, and they said around 75% of the children there were orphaned because their parents were poachers. Poachers are shot on sight there by the authorities. No questions asked. If you get caught poaching, you gone.

I think the firm's point is if the horns are so similar that you cannot possibly tell the difference without spending a ton of money on top of the real horn price, the value should drop.

People buying real ones are going to get fed up searching for them. Every shop with a horn is going to say they have a real one. Would be tough for a poacher to prove a chain of custody. And I doubt they would risk cutting the entire head off and dragging it around

Diamonds are a lot more common than people think. Their prices are artificially inflated through price fixing. Rhino horns are lucrative because they really are that rare

I don't think this will reduce poaching any more than destroying tons of elephant ivory reduces it. My guess is the latter just increases demand, and synthetic rhino horn just legitimizes the real thing. The cock knows the difference.

Slather the poacher with female rhino estrous and let them be raped to death by a rhino on video. Publish on the Internet. Might slow down the poaching.
