Carpets get vacuumed at least once, usually twice, a week. Takes maybe 10 minutes. Carpet only in bedroom and living room.
Other floors, kitchen/utility and bathroom have laminate tile and get mopped at least once a week.
As finances allow I plan on pulling all of the carpet out, repainting walls and laying fake wood vinyl tile.
I hate the carpet and can't wait to get it all out of the house.

It happens form time to time at the hospital where I work.
A few years ago I was helping a woman out of a pickup truck. Opened the passengers door and was about to assist her into a wheelchair for the trip up to the Birth Center.
She said "To Late" and the head was showing under her robe. I gloved up and reached down just as the rest of it popped out.
The hardest part was trying to get the damn birth center nurses to come down with a delivery kit and take over.
"Can you put her in a wheelchair and roll her up?"
Uh, no. why don't you come down and take the baby out of my hands and do what you went to school to do.
"We will be waiting for her as soon as you can get her on the elevator."
Cool, should I go ahead and cut the cord before I get her on the elevator too?
Finally a couple of nurses got out there and took over and transported mom and baby upstairs.

A few months later a coworker was helping a woman into a wheelchair and the baby came out onto the sidewalk.
I found out about it the next night and ribbed him for about a week.
"Dude, You didn't catch the baby? What the heck? I caught the baby."

Barnes TAC-XP

Same here. They function in my daily carry guns and get good reviews. Price isn't too bad either.

People who open carry do more harm than good for 2nd amendment supporters

Wrong.

Also in the July issue read about some pro-gun bills that made it through this last legislative session, how St Tammany Parish tried and failed to pass gun control and how the City of Abbeville succeeded in passing gun control ordinances.

The LOCAL Newsletter is published once a month and is the official publication of the Louisiana Open Carry Awareness League.
Every month we tell you about our efforts to educate the public about their gun rights, discuss laws that affect your right to carry and point you to firearms trainers who can teach you everything from First Aid and beginner level pistol use to advanced rifle and carbine operations.

the ones that can't get a concealed carry permit.

Wrong.
In Texas those who choose to open carry must get the same permit that is used to conceal carry.
As a founding member of LOCAL I can assure you that the vast majority of our members have Conceal Handgun Permits and often alternate between conceal carry and open carry or both at the same time as they feel necessary. I've had a CHP for more than 20 years and regularly conceal carry as a back up to my open carry handgun.

In case you missed it, Louisiana Open Carry Awareness League has it's July 2015 issue of the LOCAL Newsletter posted on it's website.
It can be viewed at LINK
The usual columns are there including meetings, upcoming gun shows and more.
Also there are plenty of training opportunities listed as well as the reason why the June Newsletter was lacking the usual training columns.
Also we publish the story of a LOCAL member who recently won a large settlement against a La police department and officers after he was illegally arrested while open carrying in a Wal-Mart.

Louisiana Open Carry Awareness League (LOCAL) is a grassroots, non-profit gun rights organization dedicated to educating the public about the right to bear arms. More at laopencarry.org

Do not be surprised if Waffle House and IHOP take the same stance

Waffle House already has a corporate ban on weapons in it's restaurants.

What is missing from this discussion is that the decision to ban open carry but allow conceal carry is all about emotion, not safety.
In Texas those who choose to open carry must possess the same permit that those who choose to conceal must possess. You pass the same background checks, take the same training and hold the came state issue card to carry. So it's fine to hide the fact that you have a firearm because someone who sees it may be irrationally upset by it being visible. That's BS.
Jake Gyllenhaal in JarHead.
I can't watch any movie he's in since this. It's all about his character in Jarhead. I watched that movie and all of his sniveling and freaking out and just wanted to set him on fire. Maybe it was the script based off of the book by a Marine who had some issues. Maybe it was how the director told him to play the role. Whatever it was, after Jarhead I avoid any movie Jake is in. I am a Desert Storm Vet. I was there driving my tank around those same areas including those burning oil fields. His portrayal of what happened and how we handled it just pissed me off.

It's OK. I watch it but wouldn't be upset when it gets cancelled.
Mike Wards is what you want. Pick out the safe you want, they will put it in your home.

Sporting rifle. I've got an assault fork I stabbed somebody in the neck with one time but the rest of my forks are dinner forks

Actually "Sporting Rifle" is a political term we should not be encouraging either. This was coined by NSSF to try to make up a term which would be more palatable to Gun Muggels who confused these rifles for fully automatic machine guns while also trying to make the excuse that they serve some "Sporting Purpose" per the 1968 GCA and more recent import bans.
These are common semiautomatic rifles which, while sometimes being based on designs used by various militaries, are suitable for use by average citizens for the role of defense of home, community and country. There is no reason to be ashamed or apologetic for being a responsible citizen who has decided to arm him/herself with a modern weapon which can be used in a time of crisis.
Unless we are referring to a purpose built competition model race gun, any "sporting purposes" of these rifle are secondary to their design and function.
To describe these rifles I prefer using terms such as Personal Defense Rifle, Citizen Response Rifle or, as the popo like to call them, Patrol Rifles.

Has SSB and runs on AAA if needed.
Looks nice. Good reviews.
If I didn't have my ham radios on my desk or needed something portable I would seriously consider this.
I say go for it.

Making a note to be listening on the ham radio on that date/time. Been wanting to make an on air contact with ISS. Hopefully someone will be transmitting during this pass.
I don't care.
Honestly, some people take the whole "flag etiquette" thing to some the level of idol worship.
"Retiring" a flag by cutting out the stars and burying them or burning them separably is just ridiculous.
Reminds me of Catholic school when the priest played all of those Body Of Christ games with a communion wafer.
Also, I don't pretend to show it some sort of respect because "people died for what it represents". What exactly does that mean anyway?
Is it supposed to represent some Norman Rockwell idealized version of nationalism which has never really existed?
We have documents proving that our government has used false flag operations to get us into wars that we were probably better off not being involved in. We see constant misuse of authority and injustice. We have spy programs that would make the former KGB green with envy. People are told not to question "our leaders". We shouldn't have "leaders" anyway. We should have "elected representatives" who represent us in affairs of state. Affairs that we, as the represented, should have access to. Often this is not the case.
Blind allegiance and patriotism is not something to be respected. Those who would die for "what it represents" are naive and are not exercising critical thinking skills.
Ask 100 people what "America" is to them and you will get 100 different answers. Interpretations based on class, income, geography, ethnicity and a whole host of other factors.
What does the flag represent? Everything. Nothing.
Sssooooo....
If we now have fake rhino horns,
what do we need rhinos for?
When I was driving tanks in the Army I didn't have a choice. There were times I HAD to pee in a bottle because we were on a road march or formation and I couldn't just pull the tank over to get out and pee.

Shortly after I got out of the Army I was training to be a truck driver. One night I pulled over to the side of the interstate to pee. My Driver Trainer was napping in the sleeper and poked his head out the curtain to ask why we were stopped. I told him why. "That's why you have a bottle. Use it." he says.
Hell no. I informed him exactly what he could do with his "bottle".
I peed in a bottle in Germany, Texas and some sand covered Camalstan places. Those days are over.
I'm home, in America, on a public highway. I am never peeing in a bottle again. There is nothing in the truck and nowhere I have to be that can't wait while I pull over and water the flowers on the side of the road.

What about when police lie? Should they charged, because they never are.

Absolutely. Of course, they are trained to lie and the SC has ruled that they may lie in the regular course of their duties. So they never will be. Orwell was correct. Some animals are more equal than others.
She's fappable but I have no idea who she is. The name doesn't ring a bell with me at all.
IF I have any yearbooks I'd be surprised. Honestly I don't remember buying any year books when I was in High School. I dropped out and got my GED and went in the Army. I still have my "yearbook" from my Basic/AIT training class at Fort Knox.
I'm 47 and have never developed a taste for beer.
I've tried it several times and drank socially a few times but frankly could never seem to find a brand that didn't taste nasty to me.
My dad didn't drink it either.
