Most people have an irrational fear of death. It’s gonna get us all eventually.

Generations ago, families were closer and kids actually got a chance to tend to terminal grand parents. They learned to experience life fully, and death was a part of it.

Now, we lock sick and elderly up and don’t get a chance to experience family members dying. It makes death secretive and fearful. We feel we must prevent death at all cost and never accept it as an answer. That death is defeat. Which is wrong

Also, hunting, fishing, killing chickens from the family ‘farm’ was a part of most peoples lives generations ago. It gives on a healthy respect for life and puts death in the proper perspective.

When the only time people encounter meat is at a restaurant or grocery store, then they don’t truly appreciate the life that was taken to harvest that meat.

Death. It’s just the final stage of life.

100% agree with him. The reason health insurance is so high is because 90 year olds with cancer that can barely make coherrent sentences get a $700,000 operation to keep them alive for 2 more months. Who pays for that? Everyone else at BlueCross Blue Shield including 20 year olds in perfect shape. If I'm ever in that situation, just let me go.

I know this board hates teachers wanting more money, but they absolutely do. They play an extremely important role in the success of this country. If you pay more, then more talented/qualified people will become teachers, there by strengthening the future generations when they pass along how to think to the new generation.

He is 100% spot on with this.

How about just stop using federal tax money for healthcare? Nowhere in the constitution does it say the federal government has the power to pay for healthcare.

Sarah Palin promised us that Obamacare would include death panels. I immediately stated my desire to serve on one. When I learned that she was just making up shite, I was quite disappointed.

He is truly one of the most evil, selfish, judgmental and fricked up people on the planet. frick Bill Gates.

Moreover, other than his Microsoft wealth, he is a software developer, why should I care about any of his opinions?

not all, but MOST teachers are the reason why young adults under the age of 30 these days absolutely hate America.

they indoctrinated them with false propaganda.

Evil is when man think they are Gods. Bill Gates has been a prime example of this for a long time.

1/3 of all healthcare spending is in the last 3 months of life. This is an astounding figure. We keep people alive because we can, not because we should. A 70 year old with a stroke causing vegetative state, trach, PEG, etc living in a “skilled” nursing facility has zero quality of life worth preserving. They bounce in and out of the hospital with aspiration pneumonia, UTI, and pressure ulcers. The state pays for this in most cases. Medicare and Medicaid are going to run out of money. At some point we have to start making some obvious decisions on where to trim the fat, or massively increase taxes. Take your pick.

he clip shows Gates in 2010 discussing health care and education systems at a forum hosted by the nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank the Aspen Institute, not at the G-20 meeting in Indonesia this week. While Gates did mention so-called “death panels” — a misleading term used by opponents of the Affordable Care Act — he was explaining why discussion about the cost of end-of-life care had become taboo. He never endorsed the idea.

The OT doesn’t want context, it wants anger.

should we just do it by taxes paid in your world? Like if a rich guy paid $20m of taxes in his life can he get some of his tax dollars back and be extended for a few more months with his family or should we just go with everyone just be put down so its not "wasted" while we waste billions on junk like Ukraine, israel, etc

So basically the old 70's movie "Logan's Run" when the light installed on the palm of your hand changes color and you get exterminated when you finish your useful life, minus the dome cities..... OK Bill sounds good...

More than 30 years ago the doctors and hospital told my mother there was nothing more they could do for her even though she was holding on to hope that the chemo was working, it wasn’t. It’s fair that say that this already happens, and Bill Gates should focus on just using other people’s ideas to get richer as he has always done, and not have such an overinflated opinion of himself that he gets to go around the world making such recommendations. There was a time I respected Bill Gates, but not for a long time, he has lost his way as many wealthy people do when they get the power that comes along with it.

Where do you get the moral authority to determine someone's quality of life and the level at which the quality is not sufficient to keep it going?

Don't forget that Bill just announced that he is sending us to digital currency in 2028 instead of the 2030 he had originally planned. This is to replace the dollar.

They will be able to digitally cut off your ability to buy gas and food for participating in wrong-think, or wrong-speak on the internet. When was he elected emperor of the fricking world?

The context is he is pushing these ideas, just like the OP proposed.

Would you agree to discuss this idea wrapped around career criminals and generational welfare recipients?
