Thank you for posting that twice. Gave me an opportunity to downvote you twice for your sheer ignorance of the law.

So, if someone steals your property they stole a part of your life that you cannot get back.
Stealing is very similar to murder to me.
Exactly. Couldn't agree more. How much of your life should someone be allowed to take?

Santiago won’t face a jury over this. The second degree murder charge will be pled down to manslaughter, or negligent homicide. Santiago will do some time, but not life without parole for murder 2.
Thief’s get zero sympathy from me, and if they’re willing to take what’s not theirs than they have to be willing to receive the consequences for their actions, and that includes getting gunned down. Considering an extremely high percentage of people are armed in Baton Rouge, and yes that includes the TPOS population, the perp knew the risks and gave zero fricks and stole anyways.
How’s the saying go “play stupid games.....”

frick a motherfricking bike theif. I'm so tired of everyone making excuses for criminals these days. That's why crime is out of control. Let the man walk and send a message out to all the fricking bike thieves.

He looked like a good boy who dindu nuffin

This is ultimately another reason not to live here. fricking guy steals a bike and gets shot over it, and now the guy who shot him will probably go to jail for life.
Shithole NBR gonna NBR. I don't really have any sympathy for anybody on either side.

He had a gun on him while riding a bike...

However, I don't think chasing down someone who stole your bike, shooting them in the head and leaving them on the street to die is a proportionate response.
And that's why this world's fricked.

Chasing down the bike thief and shooting him in the head probably wasn't the wisest decision the shooter ever made. BUT... I don't feel at all bad for the dead guy. Not even a bit. Seems to me there was a very easy way for this guy to have not gotten killed.

Let them draw me for a juror... the biker walks!

Stealing a bike is shitty thug behavior, no excuse for that. However, I don't think chasing down someone who stole your bike, shooting them in the head and leaving them on the street to die is a proportionate response.
With that being said, he's probably caused himself more hassle than he would have, had he just let the guy go and reported the bike stolen (which we know would not have led to anything).
Personally, I wouldn't shoot someone unless I/my family felt threatened. Just too much unneeded headache in the aftermath otherwise.
But then again, can we just let people get away with shite all the time?

Oh I never once said I feel bad for the thief. But the law is very clear on the use of deadly force to protect property (spoiler alert: it's a no-no)

from your article:
Kaufman took a bike from outside the convenience store and started to ride off. Santiago exited the store and started chasing him, then pulled a gun and shot Kaufman in the head.
The shooter was discussed. its way more trashy to kill someone over a bicycle when you are in no danger, than it is to be a homeless guy stealing a bike.

So two criminals off the street. Solid.

First off, hard pass on living in Texas.
Second, under Texas law the shooter would still be found guilty.

Is there video of this, since it was close to a store?
Asking for a close friend who enjoys watching thieves get their due.

That doesn't mean it SHOULD be a no-no. Don't want to risk getting killed? Don't steal people's stuff. It seems quite simple to me.
Quite frankly, my stuff is worth more to me than the guy who is stealing it's life is. But I also don't want to go to jail, so I wouldn't shoot someone just for stealing. Now... if they were stealing AND I felt like my life or my family's lives were threatened, that's a whole nother ballgame.
