I don't think things will be thawed out quite enough tomorrow morning to be considered safe for travel.

Might not, but it's very dry out, the wind is blowing hard, and the sun is on blast. At least the roads oughta be good tomorrow.

People don't realize the power of wind and direct sunlight. Temps don't have to reach 32 for the ice to melt. The asphalt and concrete absorb heat and will melt the ice. Then the dry air helps it evaporate.

I can hear it melting and dripping off the roof right now and it's in the 20s. The roof is absorbing heat like the road.

Pretty sure I saw a dead person being pulled out a car in the canal earlier on west Esplanade. Stay off the roads or drive slow.

Someone shared a post on Facebook by a guy who dove in to try and rescue that person and her baby. They were in an SUV and slid off into the canal.
Last I heard both were in critical condition

Roads in cenla this morning were as dry and clear as they could be. Was really surprised because they were still wet yesterday afternoon. I did not have to cross any bridges, so can't comment on that.

Ice doesn't even have to melt first. Do you even sublimation bro?

A mother and 1-year old were extracted from a car that slid into a canal on W. Esplanade - radio said they were in critical condition. As noted, stay home or drive slow (and stay away from other drivers - I saw people tailgating as if it was a normal commute).

winter won this time

I'm without water right now... and my Weatherbug says it's only 24 right now

I don't think I'll have water today... and hope it's just frozen and not busted

I didn't say it wouldn't melt. I just said it doesn't have to.

And I'll be honest, I just wanted to use sublimation in a sentence.

Everyone that came to our offices from Pineville didn't have any trouble getting over the bridges.

Blanketed our property up in the front:

Not so much to the back. I wonder why it stopped before the tree?
