50, check out this.

Storm2k has a great long running winter thread for Texas. You'll find better discussion here than this Louisiana focused board.

Chicken Tenders wants a new thread instead of recycling the old thread. I wasn't really trying to recycle the old one, per se. Someone posted in it, I noticed it on the first page, so I figured "what the hell, I'll update it since there's some pretty significant cold and a slight potential of snow in the BR area next week". Then I got fussed at. Apologies to my poultry pal.
no big deal...it's just that the comments on the first page of that thread do not correspond to the OP. That is the reason I asked for a new thread

From a met in that storm2k thread:

quote:

South Texas Storms and I have been working overtime the past 24 hours trying to squeeze a little snow with Tuesday's cold front. There isn't going to be a lot of moisture available, but it only takes 0.1" of moisture to make an inch of snow. There is at least some hope for the DFW area next Tuesday afternoon. Down south here in Houston, I'm thinking that the air aloft will be too warm for snow, though the 12Z EC suggests that there might be the slightest chance of a flurry as the precip ends. I'd expect cold rain with some sleet pellets mixed in along the coast from Houston to Lake Charles.

I live south of Birmingham, every time these threads pop up I follow the hell out of them only to find models of just LA.

I'm willing Birmingham into the model so I don't actually have to go look for myself

I'll try to keep in mind this and throw out some Birmingham to Atlanta stuff too. It's not like it'll be hard.

Much appreciated from the Bammers on here. The temp here dropped almost as quickly as Georgia's championship hopes on Monday night.

I was working outside yesterday on the humidity and 70 degree temps. I walked out this morning and it was 35. It’s 32 now and I’m getting snow flurries. It’s supposed to be 22 here tonight in SW Mississippi. Hell of a change in 24 hours.

I appreciate your sincere prognostications, but I have to ask: Has Peej weighed in yet? I’m a member of a Baton Rouge area sports site, and I rely on him for quality weather analysis. I know he won’t steer me wrong.

I had the ac on in my car yesterday. Today I was outside fixing an excavator, and I wanted to set my own body on fire to keep warm.
