Same. I have never received a gift or a single dollar from an employer for Christmas.
Heck, even Clark Griswold got a "jelly of the month" subscription!

Once I got a 2x2" lucite thing that had the company logo on it. That was it.

If it's a gift...honestly, just give me the money you spent for the gift and I would be happier.
I don't need a trinket...I need money to have a roof over my head and necessities.

My wife's office manager bought a bunch of bottles of BBQ sauce to give to clients (along with some other stuff). She then realized their expiration date was only a month or so out, so she decided to sell it to the office personnel to recoup the cost. She put them on her desk with a for sale sign. After a week of nobody buying them, she placed a bottle on everyone's desk as a gift.
This is the kind of goofy stuff that happens in this office all the time.

In Texas? She's a special kind of stupid. Ain't nobody using any BBQ sauce that isn't their go to brand.

In another life I worked for a large Mack/Volvo truck dealership and service centers, and the owners would visit every location and give out a pallet of honey baked hams and envelopes with $2000 cash to every employee from the janitor to the managers. This was also met with an equal contribution to your 401k from the company. Every year.
Honestly, the best company I ever worked for as far as pay and bonuses. Their master diesel techs were making close to $120k a year and even the basic "parts changer' mechanics were $75 to 80k. The parts counter guys were clearing over $80k with their commission. They were extremely generous with their profits and continually took over more and more territory and other dealerships.
This was over a decade ago when I left, but I still miss the owners and how they operated their business. Especially now that I work for the government and at the Christmas parties the bosses make sure to work it in to their speeches that "your benefits are actually worth a lot of money" every year

25 years ago, I was a Manager for Fred's Dollar Store. Managers didn't get a Christmas bonus, but we got the honor of handing out the Christmas bonus to our teams.
$15 gift certificate to Fred's for full time employees and $5 Fred's gift certificates to part time employees. The gift certificates couldn't be combined with their 10% employee discount. They were always so thrilled and excited.

Zendog, I thought this story was great when the boss took your plant, but the ending took it to another level.

My employer at a small upstart company decided to frick with me and gave me a 20 pound bag of shelled pecans as my Christmas bonus. I was pissed given the astronomical growth we'd experienced
That was a dangerous trick. What if you’d have blown your top and said something you couldn’t unsay?

I worked 39 years for the same company.
Same Christmas bonus every year. They said we were too spread out over the state, to give us physical turkeys, so every year we got a $25 check to go buy our own turkey.
Yes....I'm serious.

10% bonus most years. Also nice they are smart and take 25% taxes out so it doesn’t bite you come tax time.
Also usually get trophy deer hunt with it scoring over 200.

I get a pretty generous Christmas bonus based on years of service and how profitable a year it has been. I'm hoping for 15% this year which will be almost $1000 (after taxes)!
Worst was at a previous job, everybody got sams club popcorn buckets.

That is until she does the taxes and looks at the W-2 and the checking accounts realizes the math ain’t mathing you are busted.
