Too many other places that are better for a quick stop.

As others have said, it depends on how far you are driving. A rest area is so damn easy to just pull in for a restroom break and hit the road again vs getting off at a congested exit to go to a gas station or fast food place.

The woodville welcome center on 61 has on the slick the best public shitter in town. Use it during hunting season all the time.

For me, Mississippi and Alabama are 3rd world. Florida wasn’t so bad. Grapefruit and orange juice available. It was almost a Florida museum. Whatcha got?

Those of us that aren’t 90 years old stop at gas stations and truck stops

Meh. The welcome center in Alabama on I-10 east coming out of MS is pretty nice and clean.

Do they still have the “No Firearms” signs at the Alabama rest stops?

Those used to be the only options sometimes. And they had maps and brochures before the internet.

I mean, if it's 1985 and you need a roadmap they came in handy.

There's one in Arkansas that I've stopped at five or six times. Stop there every time I go to Branson. Everyone usually needs to urinate about the same time we get there. I don't think there are too many other places to stop right before, or after then.

Before we had smart phones, I used to pick up new maps of any state went into, at them. I'm old. It's what my dad did.

On my way back to Ruston, on the drive from Lafayette, I always stop at a Dry Prong Chevron convenience store on Hwy-167. It's a long way to anywhere else that has decent rest rooms, good coffee, and really nice people. On the way home I drink coffee the whole trip. Winnfield is the next place with a restroom.

Stopped a place called The Cougar Stop in Creola once. It's a liquor store. The hag behind the counter told me the bathroom was "Out back". I got back in my car and drove until I found the place in Dry Prong.

I thought the Kentucky ones were decent, as some of the Illanoy ones are nice.

I don't know, Mississippi's cotton bales and Coca-Colas are pretty damn tight.

Hard to get excited about places that are, literally, shite holes, though.
