Hard to believe Ford outsells Ram in the all of the western states. Places like Utah, Wyoming, Montana, etc seems like there are more Rams then anything else combined some places.
You watching too much Yellowstone. LOL.

I see way more F150s and F250s/350s in La than I do any Chevy or GMC. I see more Rams than Gm trucks. But that is just my little anecdote.

I remember hearing a statistic once that I wasn’t sure if it was true but I thought it was fascinating, A Ford F-150 is sold every eight minutes.

oil/truck nut-rich states of Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana are all deep Chevy country
Might be true on the quarter ton trucks but it seems most ranchers and oilfield companies around me in OK prefer Ford F350's for the heavier work loads.
Drive your chevy for date night, shopping and groceries.

Tacos are ok. I have a friend who pulls a large jetboat with one. They definitely have outgrown the mid size truck label.

Southwest GA where I am from is 50/50 ford/gm. Our farm is 100% GM.
The bigger operations I know were using mostly Fords. Then about 15 years ago, every one of those Ford diesels went bad over a space of a few years.
Now they are almost all GMC. The local GMC dealer is really good, and the Duramax diesels have been consistently reliable.

the lucrative west coast market is dominated by the Toyota Tacoma.
That’s misleading. Just because Toyota is the best seller on the west coast doesn’t mean it’s a high seller relative to the rest of the country. The west coast doesn’t sell many trucks at all per capita.

This thread has me badly wanting to purchase a Ridgeline.

Had an '04 Colorado up until 3 years ago. Never had an issue w/it aside from the A/C fan motor shorting out. Aside from that, it was the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Got to 800 miles shy of 300K and the tranny gave out. I sold it. Should of bit the bullet and had the tranny fixed and I'd still be driving it. I still see it around town. I miss that truck.
Colorado's are damn good trucks.

So the main redeeming quality of the Tacoma is that it is small....... Gotcha.
Didn’t want to go here, but it’s redeeming quality is ACTUAL off-road capability. Not dirt roads, not pleasant fields, but actual hard scrabble clay mud switchbacks.
Those other trucks excel at hauling and towing, but there’s a reason why the real adventure paths don’t have much Chevy/GMC/Ford.

My 1st gen solid axle 4Runner laughs at all these Tacoma drivers, just like it does Jeeps!!! The only beneficial thing the Tacoma has going for it other then being smaller, is the Toyota name plate.
The new Colorado, Frontier, and Ranger are just as good, or better depending on model as the “Taco”. Ultimately it comes down to the driver, and if they are able to, or what they are willing to put their vehicle through.
ETA: I see I bunched up a lot of Tacoma/Jeep panties. Bring on those down votes.. I learned a long time ago to separate a truck I’m willing to put through hell, and a truck that I want to mall crawl in.

I’ve owned 15 Chevys/GMCs in over 30 years. Ordered a ‘21 Chevy Trailboss and had to go to the Ford dealership for something else that same day. Wound up driving the ‘21 F-150 and bought it in the spot. My shop is literally littered with Chevy bowtie signs etc, but that Ford, in my opinion, was a far superior product. The Coyote will run circles around the 5.3 and will stay with my Camaro ZL1 for a spell. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Chevys, but they are a decade behind Ford in shear horsepower and technology at this moment. I’ve learned to keep an open mind and buy the one with the most horsepower. Most folks I know have or are switching from Chevys to Fords. Weird.
