dont care for the bath-tub-warm pool water in the summer; a little too hot for my liking.
and y'all need to vote out the nazis who put cameras on EVERY intersection to send tickets for the most minor violations. i got a 'right turn on red after not coming to a complete stop' bullshite ticket for the rental when i was there in the mail and i had no option to contest it because the rental company paid it from my credit card that was on file. such bullshite.

In Utah, it's pretty much anywhere from Ogden to Provo between I-15 and the mountains. Or on the Wasatch Back if you are loaded.

Not an expert, Ive only lived in TX for 4 years and its mostky been in Houston. Thought about moving to Hockley, TX but my commute would be over 2 hours to the IAH area.
I like Dripping Springs, New Braunfels, and Georgetown too.
Ill probably get downvoted because it's a pretentious urban place, but the Woodlands is hard to beat when it comes to schools, public services, entertainment, and recreation. If I had the money, I would live there.

People have to work bro. You really think people would live in a place like Houston if they didn't have the economy that they had? You can't build the Port of Houston in the Piney Woods or in the Hill Country.

I'm more of an urban/suburban guy than a rural guy, so in my home state of Louisiana, I'd say Old Metairie. Probably the best non-gated neighborhood in the state.
SAFE, almost no "cultcha", a mix of old and new homes on wooded lots (tree preservation ordinance in place), Metairie Road is a very pleasant winding main road with lots of shops, restaurants, bars, schools and churches. And only ONE parade each year!
Other pluses:
- the proximity to the many GOOD things of interest in New Orleans: dining, music, museums, sporting events.
- Lake Pontchartrain just north of us for boating.
- Easy access to the gulf coast east of us: Mississippi Gulf Islands, Pensacola, Destin, 30-A.
- LSU is only an hour away, great for students and football season ticket holders like me.
