Macy's online ... purchased a Kenneth Cole tux last year for $99. Spent $50 on tailoring and it looks great.

Get a classic two button from Brooks Brothers, bring it to Martinez off of Corporate for the tailoring (he knows his shite), and get a real bow tie made of the same material as your cummerbund.

Suit Supply for 600 bucks

Better option would be to find local menswear store that deals with Samuelsohn or Southwick or the like, probably during a fall trunk show, and get a good deal on a MTM tux under their house label.

Suit Supply

And whatever you do, get something with peak lapels or a shawl collar.

It may sound cheesy but buying a nice, well-fitting suit or tux really comes down to how you feel in it. You can buy a cheap suit and take it to a good tailor. You can buy a rather expense, well-made suit and have it tailored.

Best advice is to get on google and search for a tailor in your area. Go to the tailor for measurements and see what other services he provides. Ask what clothiers he recommends. Try on some suits in the $1500-$3000 range. See what you think. Then go to Jos Bank and try out some $200 suits. If you aren't impressed with the details (fabric, cut, comfort, overall appeal) of the expensive suit, to back and buy the cheap one.

I have two expensive suits and 3/4 cheap ones. Most people won't know the difference unless you're standing next to someone with much better fabric than yours (or a better tailor). You have to really like and appreciate the overall quality and styling of the suit or it won't be worth it to you.

Find a nice mall or shopping center and try on a few Zegnas (not Z Zegna - actual Zegna). It'll run you about $3k. See what you think.

Shopping online is for people who don't care enough about finding a quality suit. Nothing wrong with that, but if you care you'll want to see how it looks and feels in person, and how it sits on you when you're standing, sitting or moving.

Damn, that’s cheaper than renting once. Next time you find a deal like that be a baw and share with the OT!
