I wouldn’t suggest coming home with one unannounced. My wife had a Yukon xl when we test drove a minivan, mainly to consider whether the benefit of sliding doors (so kids can’t fling them open into adjacent vehicles) would be worth the “sacrifice” of owning a minivan. It’s amazing how many people are overspending on SUVs and missing out on the benefits of minivans just because of a perceived stigma over minivans. Pick the best tool for the job. How many people have you seen regret a minivan purchase vs those who rave about their benefits?

quote:Just bought my wife a used 2020 Telluride 4wd, towing package, three row seats. $21,000.00 out the door. Traded her used 2016 Camry with low miles, cut that price in half after trade. The sticker on the Telluride new in 2020 was 49,000.00.
I’m not looking for new. I’m looking for new to me. 3 to 4 years old would be totally fine

Better add 25 to 30 K to that, your not getting a Palisade for 30K
You can get a new Palisade Calligraphy, Midnight Edition for $52K.

Honest answer, you can get a lot of things in that price range.
20-23 toyota, honda, occasional armada.
2017-2020... Gx460.
2015-2017 4runner.
You can score extremely low mileage passports for 20-25k if your wife is lying about actually NEEDING a third row.

Some of the Carnivals come with recliners in the back. I will happily let my Wife drive and sit back and relax. Well not sure I could relax with her driving.

Take a look at the Subaru Ascents; they're solid SUVs as well.

Buy the nicest Sequoia you can get for $30k. It will be a little older but the 5.7l and Toyota will outlast most anything else and it will run as long as you want to keep it.

Toyota Sienna is all you need

If I’m buying used I’m buying pre-covid stuff because the products that hit the market during that period were slapped together with spare parts and many sat in fields for months or years due to distribution or supply chain issues.
The post covid vehicles largely have issues with their powertrains due to CAFE changes that forced manufacturers to rush unproven products to make that will greatly impact long term reliability. The only vehicles not impacted would be full electric, hybrids that were established tech like Tesla and the Toyota Prius or vehicles with turbo motors that had been in the market place prior to the changes.
