44, I had been divorced a couple of years, a women I had known for about 8 years had split up with her long term boyfriend, and we decided to go out for lunch for my birthday, and go to a movie. It wasn’t supposed to be a date, but we did it again a few weeks later, and just started spending more, and more time together. That was 22 years ago, and we have been married the last 17 years.

My 50th was a blast. Wife threw me a surprise party at a favorite dive bar of ours. Bunch of friends and co workers showed up. She even flew in 2 of my best friends in from out of town

48th. Spent the day on the lake skiing and wakeboarding. We had just gotten the ski boat and had gotten it running great earlier in the week. Pulled the kids tubing. This was at the camp, before we moved to the lake permanently. All the family showed up that evening and we grilled and ate birthday cake afterward. Great day.

My 60th was very special. Was in Italy and had lunch with my then, 104-year-old cousin. It was incredible talking to him about our family history on my father's side.

35,smoked pot, ate delicious food, flew to New York and did a all inclusive dinner cruise. I probably have something better but it would be too specific to post.

My 29th last year was pretty good. My wife gave me birthday sex the day before since we were having family over the day of and that's when my son was conceived. I'm waiting for someone to ask me why he was born eight and a half months after my birthday.

40th. I don’t remember a whole lot of it, but I was told the next day I had a lot of fun.

That was my 25th in Korea. I didn't do anything on my actual birthday but I was returning stateside the following week, so my brown bean (goodbye) party that weekend became a de facto birthday bash. One of the things that I don't remember but was told about was being part of a group of 6 GIs that got tossed from a Korean club because we'd overturned a couple of tables, then started grabbing bottles of beer, tossing them onto the dance floor and yelling GRENADE, then diving behind the overturned tables.

On my 50th, I called in sick to work, then watched LSU beat Georgia 20-13. Some co--workers found out that day that it was my 50th, so they arranged to meet me at The District in Green Valley and we had a BBQ and booze bash. One of my supers even showed up, bought me a drink and said, "Happy Birthday. It's good to see that you recovered nicely. Now you WILL be in on Monday or it's your arse."

Tomorrow makes #62. Will watch the Saints game early, then meet up at a friend's bar in Boulder City for the late games. Marcus has assured me that he'll have a ride home for me "if need be." I highly doubt that it'll be needed...but good to know that it's available.

My birthday this past week was the best ever. My girlfriend took me out for a fancy breakfast, rented out a professional go cart track, and rented out a log cabin for the night

28. My girlfriend at the time bought me tickets to see Pitt play on Saturday and the Steelers play on Sunday. I watched Larry Fitzgerald manhandle Syracuse. It was great.

Nothing special about any of my birthdays. Never even had a birthday party thrown for me my entire life.

The one where everyone let me be and didn't say happy birthday. So that makes none of them the best so far. I am over 30 years old, it has been just another day since I turned 21.

i would say that's mine, but my wife seems to not like the idea.

i've at least convinced her to let me set the terms of my own birthday in my late 30s.

it's actually next friday and i'll take the day off of work (kids are out for fall break anyways) and i'll start a brisket early, go for a run, start a pot of beans middle of the afternoon, have beer, add some ribs or chicken to the smoker, drink some beer, make some smoked mac and cheese, fill a cooler with beer and drinks for the kids, and whoever she invites is welcome to come over and eat my food and drink my drinks or they can not come and not eat my food and drink my drinks.

if they do come, i'd like them to be gone by 9 and to get laid.

That sound nice. Let me know where to be or to hit you up at for a location and I will be there. I won't even bother to tell you happy birthday, and I will be gone before 8 pm.

My 40th.

Wife called me at work on Friday and told me to leave at lunch. Came home to a packed suitcase and she drove us to the airport, telling me not to ask any questions.

We landed in Memphis. Now I'm really confused. She then hands me my boarding pass for our connecting flight to Vegas.

We had a room at the Bellagio, and had a great weekend. Very cool birthday surprise.
