Legend - if it keeps kicking east, we might get some rain after all
I was out in the yard this afternoon and felt a few drops. I didn't head in out of fear of spooking it. I think we got seven. Seven drops.

When the purple flight level winds start showing up it usually means at least hurricane force gusts at the surface at the same location.
If the light purple / lavender colors start showing up from recon then that indicates hurricane force sustained at the surface.
The strongest winds will be from a few miles away from the inner edge of the eyewall extending out another 10 to 25 miles depending on the storm. For Beryl, the band of strongest winds will likely be no more than 10 miles wide, but that could change in the next few hours.

It's doing exactly what it was supposed to do. The high res models last night and this morning showed it not getting its act together until 7 pm.

But it seems to be moving straight north….

Dr. Knabb on TWC is almost begging for that TS to show some RI and become a full fledged hurricane.

Friendly reminder for folks on the east side of this storm as it makes landfall, and after, there will be a tornado risk. You're not likely to get much warning, but having a way to get that warning (especially if you're asleep) is important. If you or the kids sleep in a room at threat of a tree coming down, or something like that, maybe change rooms for the night. Just something to keep in mind.

Literally following the script from 5 days ago, just with enough right bias on the track to freak a big metro out.

Yes he is.. TWC has been wanting that even before it crossed over Mexico. I think they realized that they missed badly on this one and are now grasping for straws.
