Storm2k and other weather sites. It put the brakes on and is now moving nearly due north.

I think it's moving more N now than NW which means more time over warm water which is more time to gain some strength.

The boat will correct me if I am wrong.

Looks like a 39mph gust was enough to take out this station. The 48mph gust was from earlier. It hasn't reported in over an hour.

Cancer

He was fighting it in 2020 while dealing with Covid and the two hurricanes. Still did his job for as long as he could.

He was up there with Rob Robin in Lake Charles for beloved weather men and Rob was a legend back in the day.

You are correct. That was a misstatement. The rest of my post I stand by unless I’m completely wrong of course.

The last few hours of #Beryl's forward motion have deviated a bit to the right of its expected NNW heading. If that trend continues, it could lead to the landfall point shifting slightly farther up the coast from Matagorda, #Texas than forecast. This trend will be worth watching, as it could also cause the storm core to pass a little closer to the #Houston metro area as it travels inland post-landfall.

It's definitely moving north now. It even had a NNE wobble last recon. The center is going to get tugged around as convection blows up and wobble around. Next recon plane is in so we'll see the new trend soon.

They found the strongest flight level winds they've sampled since it's been in the Gulf so I wouldn't be surprised if they bump it to a hurricane at 10 pm for shits and giggles.

NHC: Let's have a frickin hurricane

The weather channel seems to be sticking to its stance that this thing will continue to move NNW.. the storm def looks like it’s going north and may still move more east depending on how strong that low is that’s trying to push it.
