I asked you if the job of president, one that you can see how much it ages people in 4 years, is tough and you said “probably.” I don’t need a response.

Ok then. Regardless, the issue wasn't whether or not whatever activity is hard. It is whether people that do that activity are delusional. Pecker unsuccessfully tried to move the goal post just like you're doing.

LNCH,

Can we make a deal that if we can name 20 jobs harder than being a teacher, you will agree being a teacher is relatively not that difficult?

You have to ignore the engineering and econ majors who say your degree is pointless

I'm an engineer and definitely never said this about a teaching major. I wouldn't have done it but some people have a passion for teaching kids and stuff. My mom was a teacher and is now a principle.

I couldn't do it, i dont have the patience to deal with someone elses kid or child.

And you argued pecker couldn’t call them delusional without doing the job because he wouldn’t know how hard the job was.

There’s been no goalpost moving by me.

Have you never seen any nurse ever post on Facebook?

I'll send you $5 if you can show me where I said teaching was relatively difficult.

So one must be x to understand what x does? is that what you're saying. Yes or no?
No, you can understand it, doesn't mean much though. To understand something is to "perceive" its intended meaning.

So you can perceive that you understand what it's like but you don't actually know what it's like until you do it.

My hours are 8:30-3:30, I'm usually at work for 6:45 so that I can get stuff printed, make sure that my material is ready, grade whatever I need to do, and essentially just make sure I'm prepared by going over my lesson again. I have a 30-minute break while students are at PE and 45 minutes for planning the rest of the time I'm with students.

I do not stay late as I leave as soon as we are allowed, usually 15-20 minutes after the last bell and I do my lesson planning on Sundays. Very rarely do I grade at home unless I get behind due to parent/teacher meetings, 504 meetings, etc. Overall I would say I spend about an hour to two hours a week doing work stuff at home and that is usually lesson planning and looking for extra material since the school/Parish does not provide everything.

Not the hardest job ever, can be stressful, can be annoying but not as "easy" as the OT wants to make it seem. Not as hard as the article but teachers do have a 50% burnout rate for their first 3 years. Once you make it 3 years you either work till retirement or work until you can move up and out of the classroom which is the purpose of any higher degree.

Enjoy a downvote for two reasons:

1) Article is from thetab.com. WTF even brought you to that site?

2) The headline of the article is literally a quote from one of the teachers. Some young, fresh out of college kid thinks their job is the most important? Holy shite, stop the presses

He did this yesterday too. Posted an article claiming robots would soon replace teachers. He either didn't read the article or didn't care as the title was just clickbait. The article actually argued the opposite of his claim.

Saying it's a tough job and saying I know what it's like to be a cop/firefighter are 2 entirely different things.

So you work around 45 hours a week and get 12 weeks off a year.

Pecker claimed moms are delusional for saying motherhood is the toughest job in the world.

Lnch said you wouldn’t know without experiencing it.

You don’t need to be a parent to know that while it’s hard, harder jobs exist in the world.

Where does it say I don't care? So because I'm a teacher I should be required to do work when I'm not at school? Even If I do what needs to be done while I'm at school either before the bell or on my PLANNING PERIOD. If I worked in pretty much any other field, I'd be "punching the clock." I'm sorry that I'm capable of handling 7th and 8th grade work at a pace that doesn't require me to take a lot of work home. I teach Jr. High. It's not that hard for me, but maybe you went through SPED.
