Being a real estate agent..

You just need a husband with a real job so you can ride around all day doing nothing.

Make a sale or two every other month and make 2-3K, enough to get your hair did and makeup.

Easy job with low interest rates. Just advertise and rake in the cash.

Ahh, the real estate agent. The prostitute for the developers, who are on the same level as politicians, who are just criminals with enough smarts to use the system.

A fulfilling and righteous profession.

Dont forget they are a huge backer of the right to fair and equal living that is being pushed by BLM, Antifa, and the left.

Your location plays a roll in the answer of this question. In Louisiana, I got the feeling that it wasn't a respected profession at all. When I lived in California I knew several intelligent people that made a great living in real estate. My brother-in-law has a master's degree and has made FAR more money selling real estate than he could in nearly any other profession.

I do about 10-15 transactions a year (this year 21) and 6-7 flips per year. 100% of my traditional book of business is referral only, and my average transaction is 750k, which is not that much greater than median priced home where I live. My largest transaction this year was a 1.325M house in my neighborhood My flips are generally 300-400 type properties and I target 1st time home buyers. I follow the Tariq El Moussa strategy by actually taking chances on style and selections. So far so good.

I make a pretty solid living and have more flexibility than most people, even though some weekends are a wash. That said, Covid has really changed that since many buyers aren’t handcuffed by a traditional office as they were prior.

The industry is a money racket. It’s designed to allow you to pass a simple test, then start paying dues for associations, brokerages, MLS, E&O, etc...The average agent lasts 2 years and does 2 transactions in their career.

Takes a while to build a portfolio. If you hustle you can make good money after a steep curve. It's like selling insurance, takes time to grow the business.

This.

Some of the people in this thread would probably have a brain aneurysm if they knew how much I made in commercial
