Because that is what the majority of smartphone owners own and there are some features that only work when communicating with other people with iphones.
Apple created the market (well, I guess blackberry really started the "smartphone") and like any other brand, people tend to stay with what they already know.

This stuff is so stupid
I've owned several iPhones and several flagship Android devices. iPads and higher-end Android tablets too.
They're all solid. I enjoyed Android, I got bored, went to iPhone, I'll probably get bored with this. There are pros and cons to each, but none big enough that would really piss me off if I was forced into one or the other.

iphones used to be the best and everyone got hooked on them. Now people don't want to switch cause they don't want to learn how to use a new phone. Which is dumb because they are all pretty self explanatory.
I switched from iPhone to the Pixel when it first came out and it had unlimited photo storage. That bullshite "buy more photo storage" message on the iphone drove me crazy. Really glad I switched. I enjoy the pixel much more than the iPhone.

Most people spend 2x time with their phone as any other single piece of technology, so it's not surprising that plenty of people, me included, like to see what's going on on the other side after a while.

apple has made it cool to dog any other brand and their fanboys are absolutely sheep. now they make memes to try to downplay the quality of anything else and it works with the millennial crowd. having the newest iPhone is a middle class status symbol.

At the same time, anyone who labels the user of a different phone as "sheep" is probably a total fricking nerd

Both sides have fanboys and it's really sad to see people get emotionally invested in large corporations like they are sports teams. A phone is a tool and at this point in the product life cycle, either tool should work for just about anyone. Having your own preference is natural, but why the hell does anyone care what other people are using?

I'm not a fanboy of any side and it seems that I have rustled many a jimmy in this thread. I simply have both and don't understand why people rave about the iPhone. I find the iPhone cumbersome and very limited in ability. Things that I can do on my Samsung in two actions, take more actions on the iPhone. It seems very antiquated.

Android users love to talk about their phones and how much apple sucks. Unless a new model is coming out, I rarely have someone talking about apple phones to me except android users. It is time everyone call it what it is, Android users are obsessed with this entire topic.
