It amazes me how many people can’t drive a boat properly.

I love the looks of amazement I get at the launch when people see me trailer a 25 foot speed boat by myself. As in back the trailer up myself, get in boat, drive it onto the trailer leaving it in gear so it doesn’t slide back, hopping out to winch it up tight, hop in kill the engine, pull it out. All under 2 minutes while some jerk offs spend 30 min trying to get theirs on a trailer with 4 people helping

There are rules of the road for boating. How many know which is the stand on and which boat is the give way when two boats appear on a collision course?

If you know what's good for you, you'll yield to my party barge when you see it coming, less you wanna re-enact the scene from Footloose on water.

The marina in FL where I keep a boat started renting out pontoon boats. They usually give the driver a quick tutorial and send them on their way. Never is the tutorial sufficient for someone who has never driven a boat, but sure take it out anyway.

Walking by one day one of the attendants was finishing up his tutorial and he asked any questions. First one, “where’s the brake”? I started laughing thinking that was funny. He wasn’t joking.

Needless to say, I have not been to crab island during the summer in over 3 years.

Usually anything boating is easier by yourself or maybe with one familiar person helping.

I find that when boating everyone wants to help and that ends up being it’s own mini disaster in some way unintentionally

We went & rode the Amite yesterday
Not many people out where we were, boat needed to be ran
Figured today was going to be a shite show

The number of boats has been low for July 4th weekend on the Amite/Diversion/Blind/Marepas circuit. It is after noon and there haven't been many more than a normal summer weekend. Noticeably absent are boats over 30'.

Water is super low on our lake today. Already pulled out 2 boats that were turning mud where it usually wouldn’t be a concern.

I saw something in the wild yesterday that assaulted my senses. A middle aged white male on a pontoon boat blasting gangster rap and flying not 1, but 2, Trump flags.

Lol why is that weird? I voted for trump and listen to a lot of rap. I’m not middle aged though?

I usually just back my entire truck into the water and sink it and the trailer. I’ll worry about it when we get back.
