I hope it's not the end. Certainly it does nothing but help the local economy.

If they would branch out a little bit and not just stick with country it would give them more room to book performer that would generate more hype.

Last year when they booked Taylor Swift on Friday night, the country fans threw a fit because she's not country anymore. So then they had to update all the marketing to say that Taylor specifically was not part of the official BCS lineup.

3 days is too much, make it 2 days and tighten up that roster

Or keep it at 3 but make each day a different theme. Country 1 day, rock another. Etc

Heck even make 1 day an 80s theme. Lots of bands from that era make the nostalgia tours

You can prove this? I'd bet that Taylor's management demanded that she be separated from the country genre for the reason you stated.

When they were doing the pre-event audience interviews on the news there was a common theme:

"We do this every year. It's great to hang out with friends and tailgate and the people are so friendly. We have a tent set up. We got here early just to party and have fun..."

No mention of the music. Bayou Country Superfest is music for people who don't like or care at all about music.

Bayou Country Superfest reviews?

I went last night after skipping the last 3 years. Crowd appeared thin, especially for Dustin Lynch and Thomas Rhett. Started to fill in for Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean.

I left after Bentley. He was great. One of the top 2 performers I seen inside Tiger Stadium (the other was Keith Urban). Don't care for Aldean, so I left.

All in all, had a very good time.

Honestly, I've had as much tailgating as being in the stadium. The place is filled w T&A, but it's the same country-pop music every year.

The advocate had an article last week that discussed this. Apparently the country music festival market it totally saturated and some are being canceled or are taking a loss.

It's having trouble competing with the Jambalaya Festival.

Dierks was great last night. Good show. He pulled a guy on stage to shotgun a beer with him. Then Dierks feaked out his stage bouncers by falling back into the crowd.

I'd go see him again. Left after Aldeen's first 4 songs. He is Denham Springs trashy.

Repeat acts at a festival with over 150+ acts a year is not that big a deal.

Repeat acts with only 14 performers, in which 57% of the acts are repeat perfromers, in only a 6 year old event, is very bad
