Never going back to Superdome
Might have to wait until St George builds their concert arena

Did their tax incentives go away? I always thought this was partially subsidized by tax credits etc.

Not gonna lie, if you just pulled that out of your arse (and I think you did), then that is pretty damn impressive. Plus, you made your point.

Pretty sure LSU didn't want them on their brand new field.

Look it up, and if I stole it from somewhere I’ll self ban.
You can give me a bunch of keywords and a theme and I can write one out lickety split.
I’ll get a little ditty in my head, or a good line, and it just comes easy.

Not at all. I think you wrote it. That's why I was impressed. Sadly, you are right that it is about 65% of the way to an actual Hick Hop song. Fans should be getting better.

And I mean, look, lots and lots of pop music can be written that way.
You get a good hook, a catchy beat and some relatable lyrics, and it’s not exactly rocket surgery.
But there’s something special about a song with actual heart and soul in it.
I mean, listen to “tears in heaven”, or “Tennessee whiskey” or “don’t close your eyes”...man you can feel those.
My favourite ones to write are songs that come from legit experiences and emotions in my life. Heartache and lost love and pain. To me, that’s what makes real country, when the words just drip with raw emotion.
And you aren’t gonna get that with an upbeat number about bud light and tailgates and cornfields sung by a studio stooge who’s never baled hay or kicked shite in his life.

field is brand new every year.
It’s getting more than new turf this year. They are replacing and upgrading the drainage systems and everything as well.
I can see that preventing them from hosting a concert in three months.

After a few years of some repeat acts, the only person they could've gotten to make it any better for this/next year would be/is Garth Brooks.
Until Garth has a show IN Tiger Stadium singing Callin' Baton Rouge, this ride ain't over.

1 & 2 are attractive. 3 & 4 not so much

I like ones that have a smart play on words.
Come on in “The Whiskey is Fine” by Adam Doleac is great. So many ways to interpret the lyrics.

The problem wasn't attendance - it was booking that venue.
Tiger Stadium is getting a big turf and drainage upgrade this spring.

Yup. I wrote this one a while back. Round after round playing on bouts like in a boxing match and also rounds of drinks. Has a “whiskey lullaby” feel with fiddles and sorrow and heartbreak people just can’t get past.
Round after round
Vs 1:
Well they went round and round that last fight,
No they weren’t holding nothing back,
And with their words they pulled no punches,
He said “I’m through.” Her bags were packed,
So now she’s staring through her wineglass,
While on the other side of town,
He’s fighting with a fifth of whiskey,
And a mem’ry neither one can drown,
Chorus:
And they go round after round,
In a fight that they can’t win,
Cause you can’t beat a broken heart,
When you’re on the losing end,
Yeah they’ll go round after round,
Until they finally give up hope,
And the bottom of a bottle
They call heartbreak,
Has them up against the ropes,
Vs 2:
Well now alone in bed she shivers,
Cause wine won’t keep away the cold,
While he wishes he could forgive her,
But his pride won’t seem to let him fold,
So it’s another shot of whiskey,
As the will to fight on’s fading fast,
As they both wonder “do they miss me?”
Which round is gonna be the last?
Chorus:
And they go round after round,
In a fight that they can’t win,
Cause you can’t beat a broken heart,
When you’re on the losing end,
Yeah they’ll go round after round,
Until they finally give up hope,
And the bottom of a bottle
They call heartbreak,
Has them up against the ropes,
Vs 3:
They found him frozen on her tombstone,
With an empty bottle ‘neath the oak,
And a note that finally said “I’m sorry,
But I can’t fight on with a heart that’s broke.”
So now he lays beneath the cypress,
But on some frosty nights you’ll hear,
The sound of whiskey bottles breaking,
As on her grave fall frozen tears,
