Baws, with this infrastructure plan, does this mean more tolls?

Been hearing about lot of private funding. This mean we need to keep more quarters in the car? Already feel toll roads are from the devil, but this may get worse.

I'd gladly pay a toll to have a BR loop

Are you simple minded?

Every toll road I've ever been on blows away even the nicest public roadways in this country.

Currently our taxes go to pay for roadways that we may or may not use. Think of it as a form of taxation that is only levied should you wish to use it.

Sorry, but a toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and if we don't get no tolls, then we don't eat no rolls.

QUARTERS

TollTags are the expectation. Or, you get billed at a higher rate each month for not having the tag.

Yes, and I have no problem with it.

Louisiana can go to an EZ Pass system like other states with non-shitty roads.

Oh so you like 10-year projects where half the interstate is gone and by the time it's finished people will have found a new road to overload.

Sorry you can't have free stuff.

btw not many major new toll roads take coinage.. fwiw. Hell a lot of them you just drive on and they send you a bill in the mail for a few bucks. (Or to whom the car you are driving is registered to.)

Depends. Do you live in a blue state? If you do, more tolls are always likely and that has nothing to do with infrastructure.

Honestly, if a group of Louisiana politicians came to me and said, "We can 100% gaurantee you that we will build the Baton Rouge loop (north and south) complete with a new bridge at Plaquamine point, and a new bridge over the intracoastal canal at LA 415, completed in no more than 5 years time including weather delays IF you agree to x tax increase and that the loop will be a toll road that will cost y to ride" I would likely support it. X and Y would have to be pretty damn outrageous for me to turn that down. This damn loop should have been built 30 years ago.

I don't know. I don't think we could handle that kind of thing. The corruption would be ungodly.

The corruption with the Causeway is ungodly, but it is damn sure better to have a causeway than not have a causeway.
