Your Baw anticipated you asking him for a handout with your sob story. He beat you to the punch so you wouldn’t ask.
Only real explanation for this.

It’s really easy as hell, I have buddies making 2-3 million a year and old friends that made 10 million a year or more.
All were married, and their wives could spend 1.5 times what they made.
Buy a 60 foot Viking, a Jet etc and see how long your money last

You’d have to be legit retarded to be making 450k/year in Louisiana and not be living like kings even with two kids

Disagree. 450k you can easily afford a house 1-1.5 million range plus a couple of 50k-75k cars, catholic school tuition and still be saving several thousand a month.
Sure you definitely can, but throw in some expensive vacations, expensive dinners, a wife that likes expensive clothes and pretty soon your in trouble. 450,000 can disappear very quickly especially when you consider taxes

People in LA live way beyond their means for the most part. I noticed it when I moved away. Being perceived to have money is incredibly important to a lot of people there.

He maybe owns a business that makes $450k in revenue but has $400k in expenses. That’s likely how.
This. Or the $450k is not reliable income. In my experience, even when folks who flaunt their wealth are being honest about what they brought in, they are talking about their best year ever - not their average year.

What job in NOLA outside of CEO or injury attorney is paying that?
Assuming he’s not a business owner of some sort, could be a doctor in one of the more lucrative specialties. Although most of the doctors I’ve met over the years tend to live within their means for the most part, probably due to years of being a broke resident and/or paying down loan debt.
I do think it’s a little funny to see the “nobody can be broke making $450k/year” reaction. Just like there are people making $30k who think nobody could ever be broke making $80k. Just like kids in the Mumbai slums thinking nobody could ever be broke making $30k. It’s all relative.

shite like this is why we are fricked. If folks were smarter with their money it wouldn't matter if they got laid off or the oilfield tanked every now and then. I could flip burgers and cover my bills if I had to. I'm free AF

People cannot stop spending. Even if they “accidentally” save money - once they find out about it, they gotta spend it.
Example:
We just bought a small house and bid lower than asking with 2 other offers on the table. We bid all cash with a close within a week as long as the inspection was good. Our realtor told us we would not get the house.
The seller took our offer because he “needed the cash” from the sale. The total amount he took away from the sale (after fees and his second mortgage) was only 15k. I am certain he could have doubled his “profit” if he was willing to wait.
He would not.

Let’s break it down.
Yearly Income before taxes - 450,000
House payment - 100,000
Private school (2 kids) - 40,000
Entertainment - 30,000
Dinning - 50,000
Vacations - 45,000
Clothing / Accessories - 75,000
Donations to charity - 40,000
Utilities / House Upkeep - 20,000
Car Payments / Insurance - 30,000
Retirement - 45,000
Total expenditures - 475,000
You forgot the FIRST and most important expense - Taxes.
Between income taxes and property taxes he isn't bringing home anything near $450k.
He doesn't even see about the first $100k or so because that goes straight into Nancy Pelosi's slush fund/ice cream budget. Add about another $25k that's made available for Jon Bel Creature Feature to steal. Add about another $20k or so for property taxes and he's already down below $300k. And that doesn't even include the 8-10% sales taxes he pays on his luxury purchases.
