Per Chicago Times News.

Thanks Mayor Brooms.

quote:

Jeff Bezos, the company’s CEO, notes that “San Diego has the space that the company will require in order to continue to deal with continued growth, access to a network of strong universities, and a high quality of living.”

quote:

Construction is expected to begin in 2019, but the company notes that there are still many decisions to make, so that timeline remains tentative at this time.

I would have bet money on the East Coast / North East. Why put a second HQ out west when the plan is for national domination?

I thought for sure it would be an eastern city. But as cities go, San Diego is a wonderful place.

Bring in the 100Kish+ jobs to area, and fill the other jobs with cheap, over the wall labor. Amazon ain't stupid.

Why would Amazon ever even consider BR?

I thought if it happened, it would truly be a miracle.

And what I was really excited about was listening to how Fat Gary explained how Amazon was racist and didn’t care about black folks once they were here and didn’t put the HQ next to Southern and only hire black folks

If they wanted a location in the south I would have picked Atlanta, Houston, or Dallas.

They wouldn't. Amazon doesn't even consider Louisiana worthy of having a single distribution center

Sucks for you guys in LA. Yall don't get to experience receiving stuff from Amazon within hours of ordering. They just keep building more and more out here. I think we are up to 5 now with a 6th one almost finished.
