Florida boulevard was in town. We lived out in the country and went to the Howard Bros at the corner of Greenwell Springs Road and Monterrey.

The Prince Murat Inn. Seems like people were always drowning in the pool. And there was a bar down Nicholson, supposedly a lesbian bar, named Cock and Bull. I never ventured there.
The Pancho's on Nicholson was da bomb.

That Sears building became a taxation building. The Drive-in was the Rebel Drive-in. Howard's and Gibson' were both cool, but became trashy over time.

Danver's had good burgers. Pizza Inn and Shakey's had good pizza.

The original Chimes Theater, and the Broadmoor Theater. They were the old school type theaters with upper levels, and lots of brass fixtures. When going to the movies was a big deal.

All of the Ponchos around town, Godfather’s Pizza, and la Fonda’s messican on airline.

Little Italy was on Allelo Drive off Florida behind the funeral home. Closed every July because they went back to Italy. Great pizzas. My parents took us there all the time.

No. But when I was a kid my back yard directly connected to what is now the LSU Arboretum. I would go to Emory Smith's (he donated the arboretum to LSU) house and have cookies with him. That's my Baton Rouge nostalgia.

is that where the molestation occurred?

My grandparents bought cocktail glasses on clearance at Globe when the store was shutting down permanently. Still have those glasses.

Globe's, Kent's and Bonanza Steakhouse, all on Florida, are my personal trifecta of BR nostalgia.

Ruby’s off college drive. It was a cool place. I remember the guy that owned it was named Gordon. Doc Pennington used to hang out at the end of the bar there and have a Limo take him home in the evenings if I recall. Gus Piazza bought it after that. Good ole days.

Original Ruby’s was under the overpasss at Perkins which Smokie bought and turned into George’s. Pretty much after the city outlawed head shops and he had to start selling food instead of Zig Zags and bongs.
