How about the haunted house? Not sure if it had a name...
Which is where the skate board park eventually went in afterwards. Yeah, I remember the haunted house well.

I was at the Broadmoor theater for it's grand opening featuring the World Premier of 'Lord Jim'. It was a big deal, it must have been around 1965. I was 11 years old, wow that was a long time ago...

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this but Miss Goldies on the corner of Florida and Flannery. We used to eat lunch there in between softball games in the summer

That was a Kroger next to K-Mart. It was located on the southwest corner of Sherwood and Florida and then moved next to K-Mart when that building was completed.

We used to get drunk and go frick with them. We learned about them after the got busted for prostitution on the news. We were young, probably about 16 and they’d open the door and we’d yell at the about “love me long time” or ‘how much for sucky sucky”, dumb 16 year old shite like that. They’d promptly throw us out and lock the door.

You likely know my family. 4 brothers, 1 sister Simoneaux's. All went to Broadmoor High around that time. My mom would have been 8 in '65 but my oldest uncle would have been 13 or 14. They all grew up on Archery Dr.
I grew up in the 80's on Cora

The last movie I remember seeing there was Boyz In The Hood. We were vastly in the minority.

Jebus, I hated that store with a passion when I was a kid. I can still smell that store in my head.

Borden’s Be No More. They were located next to Gerry Lane which was next to Burger King on the corner of North Foster.

Dugas Tires on Florida...Edwin Edwards helicoptered in for their grand opening. In the field next door there were Llamas.

Dupre's Alternator & Starter Service?....Wasn't there some crazy history with the original owner?

Pre I-12, Florida Blvd (US Hwy 190) was THE highway going East/West. Traffic/growth/prosperity. The completion of I-12 did not kill Florida. That jewel was began by Judge John Parker.
