Man is this a trip down memory lane. Y’all got a lot of mine, and I go way back.
Municipal airport
Shoppers Fair
Woolco
Burger Chef- 15 cent burgers
Chuck Wagon- I think near Hoppers
Borden’s
Alamo Plaza Motor Hotel
Hoppers had cars cruising around through the parking lot ala Southern CA
Miller’sNursery- The owner did everything in cash out of his pocket. In the spring the wad would get so big he’d send some of it home with his wife at lunch, and that lady was totin iron buddy. Nice guy though

For me, I think it was “The Tourist” or maybe “Salt”. I just remember it being an action movie with Angelina Jole and these mammoth women behind me gave hilarious commentary throughout the entirety of the film. Really brought out the comedy.

Kroger, Kmart and Woolco across the street. Erickson's Hardware on the corner of Florida and Flannery. Builder's Center. Lots of bars and liquor stores out around Stevendale. The MG dealership was named RS&S. Lowes first store was next door. The state fair was held where Cortana is now. The original Pier 1 was across from Putt Putt. Seemed like a hippy store back then.

When I moved about a year ago, I was digging through some cassettes and one of the ones I bought was in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus (I was on a field trip to see the LSU rodeo in 1984). This is the stamp they placed on the inside of the J-card of the cassette ( Topic I discussed lookng for names of stores):
Was there a Burger King across the street from this place at the time? I seem to recall eating there when I noticed the music store.

New Generation was my Mecca in High School.
Loved Goony Golf as a kid. I had several birthday parties there. There was also a skateboard park across Florida for a few years in the 70s.
How about K&B at Sherwood and Florida?
Machine Magic
Coney Island
Broadmoor Theatre and Wesley's
Pasqualie's
Was Werlein's the music store kind of right next to NewGen?
Who remembers when the Post Office was where Baton Rouge's Live Music is now?
There are two places I cannot remember the name of and it's been bugging me for a while. Both right of Florida:
One was on Little John across from Winn-Dixie, early to mid 80s. It was a sandwich shop but had a nice little arcade. The guy who owned the place was in a wheelchair. He was missing one or both of his legs. He might have been a Vietnam Vet.
The other was in the Belle Aire Plaza Shopping Center. Kind of where Machine Magic used to be. Either in the same spot or a couple of doors down from MM. It was a bar/music club. I saw a Judas Priest cover band there somewhere around 85-ish.

1. Globe Department Store
2. Cowboy’s Nightclub in front of Cinema 8 & Cinema 11 which later became The Cajun Hall. When the Texas Club bought it is when it became The Cajun Hall, which was a concert venue. I saw David Allan Coe there in the early 90’s.
3. Montgomery Ward’s
4. Dunkin’ Donuts at the corner of Florida & Lobdell. This was the old style donut joint with a long bar and a few tables.
5. Broadmoor Theater - This was where I saw many Disney movies as a kid including several of the Herbie movies, Apple Dumpling Gang, Escape to Witch Mountain, etc. I also saw Pure Country there after it became a dollar cinema. Anybody remember the old lady who took your ticket to enter?

A&P supermarket next to Woolco
If you mean the A&P just east of Nassau Dr, it was next to a K-Mart. I lived in the neighborhood behind it. I used to go buy books and look at KISS records at that K-Mart. I worked at that A&P when I was 15
