NIN takes Josh Freese from FF.

FF get Ilan Rubin from NIN.

Not only that, but Ilan took over from Josh in Danny Elfman's band when Josh got the FF gig. I was at a few of the rehearsals with Josh before Coachella in 2022. Josh is a great drummer and fricking loud. Nice guy.
Thanks all!

I just tried an experiment. I ran a Blues Driver Waza into the Valeton then to the TMDR. Sounds good. Then I switched the order, Valeton into the BDw into the TMDR. Sounds awful. Buzzy, fizzy.

Oddly, when I recorded them both (just on my iPhone) the difference was minimal. But in the room, it was a big difference. It sounds like the amp sims in the Valeton are compensating when the BDw goes into it. But the TMDR doesn't like seeing the output directly from the BDw.

I like (not necessarily love) the amp with the Valeton. But with pedals, I hate it. Since I have a large pedal collection, I dont think I can use an amp that doesnt play well.

Thanks for the input!!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a TMDR, black. I am really struggling to make any dirt pedal sound good. They all sound fuzzy and buzzy in a bad way. I have tried 3 different firmware updates. They *might* help a little but they dont fix the issue. I can get a multieffects unit, Valeton GP-200 to be OK but none of my analog pedals sound good. Even if they kind of sound ok at first, to my ear they get buzzy within 5 minutes.

I am on the verge of taking this back to GC but wanted to see if the hive mind has any thoughts or suggestions.

TIA!

Last three episodes of Clone Wars season 7

I concur. But I am biased. I wrote some of the music for those episodes.
I scored two projects for Roger. The first was his only television series, Black Scorpion. It was my first big project. The second was The Phantom Eye for AMC’s MonsterFest. Roger starred as Dr. Gorman. Roger was just as you see him in interviews, the demeanor, the voice. At once legendary and avuncular.

Godspeed Roger. And thank you for the opportunities.

Not surprising to many, Josh Freese will be taking Taylor's place. Sad they have to replace Taylor, but IMO Josh is the perfect person. Heckuva drummer and a cool guy as well.

So glad the movie is finally out! I loved working on it and it's good to not have to worry about spilling secrets anymore. Although I still haven't seen the entire movie from start to finish.

If I were to start REbels and Clone Wars is there one I should start before the other? Does it matter?

Start with The Clone Wars. There things and characters in Rebels that are made better by having an understanding of where they come from in The Clone Wars.

When watching TCW, you have two choices of viewing, release order or timeline chronological order. The episodes were not released in a straight timeline (Rebels was, so it isnt an issue there).

This is the official chronological order:
The Clone Wars

TCW is structured in multiple episode arcs per story, each arc focusing on different groups of characters with the overall story of what is happening between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Rebels is one group of characters and their story. Each episode builds the overall story (even if you may not think so at the time).

Personally I think it's a great show, but then again I am biased.

Broski's answers above are correct. The last 4 episodes of Season 7 are known as the Siege of Mandalore and take place concurrent with the events of Revenge of the Sith. There is even a supercut of RotS somewhere with those last 4 episodes edited into it so you see all the events as they were happening.

If you are a fan of The Mandalorian, TCW will introduce you to Bo-Katan, the Darksaber and of course Ahsoka Tano.

Some feel that TCW takes a couple of season to find its legs. By mid Season 3 it really starts firing on all cylinders and by the end of Season 5, well, it goes to another level. Then S7 even tops that.

You should know, however, that the episodes, especially in the first few seasons, are not in chronological order. Here is the official order from Lucasfilm if you want to watch the show in chronological order instead of release order.

I've order LOTS of stuff from Sweetwater since 2005 ranging from a few dollars to thousands of dollars. NEVER once had an issue.

I've ordered tens of thousands of dollars from them over the years. Mixing consoles, synths, guitars, cables, speakers, you name it, I've probably bought it from them. I think in one order alone from 1998 I likely spent $15k.

And yet, this can happen. It was failure after failure and it took months to get to the point where the higher ups would step in and fix it. I've never even had this happen at Guitar Center.

Chuck decided to start selling off the company a few years ago. In 2021 Providence Equity bought controlling interest. Is that related? Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell, but I have definitely experienced a shift from what they were in the 90s.

What happened with the scratchy pots?

It seems to be better. I haven't used the DeOxit yet. I expect to have to replace the pot at some point. I won't be going back to SW with something this easy to fix myself.

I just went through a nightmare with Sweetwater. Such that after being a customer for 30 years, I will never even purchase a guitar pick from them again.

TL;DR Sweetwater failed and failed and failed and failed on an order taking 3 months to finally get right.

Called my "engineer" in Sept asked for a quote on an EVH Frankie and case. My engineer wasnt in so I spoke with his assistant who said he'd get back to me.

I wait...

Finally in November, after never hearing from them, I contact again. "Oh I thought I emailed that to you....". Nope.

Get the quote. I call on Dec 7 to order the guitar and case. I live in CA so I asked about the CA Post Production tax exemption. Its a form I fill out that essentially cuts the sales tax in half. No problem they say. I submit the form before I even order the guitar. My Engineer tells me on 12/7 that the guitar will go out that night or the following morning. Great.

Thursday comes and I've still heard nothing. I email, my engineer says he will find out the issue.

Saturday comes, I still have not heard back from my engineer or anyone. They've taken the money from my account and I have NO IDEA when my guitar and case will be shipped.

I call Sat 12/11. My engineer isn't in (again...) so I speak with someone else. I tell them I'd like to know what is going on. Is there an issue? A little communication would go a loooong way. He says he will let me know by the end of the day what is going on. Later he lets me know the guitar and case will go out Monday, overnighted to me. Great!

I get the guitar and case on Tuesday. The guitar has an issue (between 6 and 9 on the volume, it makes a TON of noise. Above 9, it is fine, below 6, fine).I contact my engineer, he isn't in. I cannot get an answer from SW for a couple of weeks, I assume because of Christmas. At some point I post this on a business review site, that triggers several responses from a few SW reps. I let them know I will deal with this, although they do send me a can of DeOxit (I dont think thats the issue, I think it's a bad pot).

The real issue is the case. I specifically ordered the EVH for the logo. There is a recessed area on the case for the logo sticker to go into. Well, this was not in the recessed area, it is hanging over it as the logo was stuck onto the case about an inch outside the area. I let SW know this issue, they agree to send me a new case and take that one back, great.

They send out a second case. Guess what.... that one has a similar issue. The sticker was in the recessed area but it is bent up and distorted on both ends. I let them know and they say they will send a THIRD case. This time they will open it up and make sure the logo is fine. The person I am now dealing with (Someone in the PC Tech dept...I have NO IDEA why I am talking to them, but he is the one who had been dealing with this) says he has never seen this before (two problems in a row). All the while I am receiving notices from SW that they will charge me for the FIRST case unless I return it soon. I let them know this is not cool since I still have not received what I paid for (a non-defective case) and the notices stop.

They send out a third case, but also send out a tag for FedEx to pick up one of the previous cases. They do this without telling me AT ALL. So the third case arrives at 1:15pm one day. I am not home but I get a notice it has been delivered. When I get home, no case!!! Where is it? Was it stolen? Was it hidden somewhere? Was it delivered to a neighbor? All that is there is a small piece of paper from FedEx with a Call Tag number.

I look into this. Turns out they did deliver the case at 1:15PM. Then another driver PICKED IT UP FOR RETURN at 2:11PM!! In Sweetwater's infinite wisdom they had sent out a return pickup tag THE VERY DAY they third case was being delivered. SW looks into getting that case rerouted, this takes a day or so but nope FedEx cannot reroute.

So SW will now send out a FOURTH case. I implore them to NOT send out return tags for the two defective cases I still have until I receive and verify the fourth case is ok. By now I am talking to the heads of Customer Service. FedEx says the case will be delivered by noon, but by the afternoon, no case. At some point it says it will be delivered a day late. THANKFULLY this turns out to not be true and it is delivered the night of the promised day (although hours late...)

This case is FINALLY what I paid for. I then contact SW to let them know they can send the return tags. I repackage the cases and set them out the day they say FedEx will be by to pick them up. A few days later they are back to SW and I believe my nightmare is over.

All this took three months to get sorted out. They did refund what I paid for the case which was, IMO, the LEAST they could do after all this. Those packages of candy aren't worth it.

Oh and a few days ago, I got a package from EVH. It is a coffee mug and two packs of picks... so now it's all better /sarc

I thought she was shorter than both Ezra and Sabine.

She is usually portrayed about the same height as Sabine and definitely taller than Ezra to start. By the end, the three of them were roughly the same height. I'm sure Ezra is taller now, where ever he is...

The only picture I can find that seems to have Hera much shorter is the Finale poster. But I *think* she is supposed to be standing in front, down a little down a hill.

quote:

I might have gotten Marshall's height confused with Hera's (she is short)

It's kinda of hard to tell with animation as I think the sizes can vary. According to Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, Hera is 1.76 meters which is just over 5-9. Im not sure how canonically accurate it is, but Wookieepedia uses this as it's source. Kanan is listed as 6-3 and that would be about the right difference between them in most pictures of them standing together. There are some pictures where Hera does seem smaller but in many it is hard to tell if that's a perspective issue. I don't think height would be an issue with Vanessa playing Hera in live action.

The same source lists Cham Syndulla as 6-3. She's not 14 inches shorter in this shot

quote:

Will Vanessa Marshall play Hera in live action as well or is she too short? (Marshall is like 5'1)

I've never met Vanessa, but looking at pics Vanessa is above average height for a woman. IMDb has her listed as 5-8 1/2.

Here's a pic of her with the rest of the cast of Rebels- Steve Blum right next to her.

For reference here is a pic of me with Steve Blum (listed as 5-11) and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (5-8) from the Rebels wrap party at Skywalker. I am 6-1. So Vanessa is well above 5-1. Perhaps you are thinking of Ashley who is listed as 5-2.

Love Highlander. Love the insanity of it all. Not just the story but a French guy playing the Scot, a Scot playing an Egyptian from Spain and an American playing a Russian. Add to that a great Michael Kamen score and Queen songs.... Who wants to live forever?!

At the Star Wars Rebels Season 2 finale screening, Clancy Brown was sitting right behind me. He said something to one of the presenters and I thought "Holy hell, the Kurgan is gonna take my head!"
First concert I went to was:

Ozzy/Metallica, August 3rd, 1986. Hampton Coliseum
Metallica was touring with Master of Puppets. James had broken his arm and was only singing. John Marshall of Metal Church was playing his parts from behind the curtain. It turned out to be the last North American concert that Cliff played before leaving for the ill-fated European tour. Live recordings of this show were released on the Remastered Deluxe Box Set of Master of Puppets. Brought back many memories

Ozzy was touring with The Ultimate Sin. It was the whole spangly robe/entrance from above thing. Jake on guitar. I was close enough for Ozzy to throw water on me 3 times.

I got two guitar picks from the show. One from Kirk Hammett and one from Phil Soussan, bassist for Ozzy.

The best show I've ever been to was:

David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl. March 25th, 2016
He played for 3 hours with an intermission. First half of the show ended with High Hopes which was outstanding. Second half ended with Comfortably Numb. I was sitting right in the middle. When the lasers shot over my head for the solos... it was practically a religious experience.

Wait a minute. We have someone who posts here that has worked on Clone Wars and The Bad Batch?!?

Yes, I have been on the composing team since the end of S2 of TCW (The Zillo Beast Strikes Back was the first ep I wrote some music for). Through Rebels, S7 of TCW and now TBB.

That animation style is so crisp, fresh, clean and really incredible. I still go wow every time I see it.

It really is amazing isn't it! The first time I saw our work copy for the first ep of S7 I was blown away. And it wasn't even full quality!

I'm afraid I don't have enough power to convince them to remake those 150+ episodes! Waaaayy above my pay grade LOL

I’ve seen all the movies and The Mandelorian, but I need more. Ezra wasn’t the best Jedi, but I’d like to know what became of him after the rebellion.

The Bad Batch premieres next Tuesday, May 4th, with a 70+ episode. Episode 2 (normal length) will come out Friday May 7th. New episodes will come out every Friday.

It's a really good show!
