The Old America Store, something of a Hobby Lobby of its time, located near the Broadmoor Theater. That same building later hosted a flea market where I purchased slews of baseball cards

Bought a Roger Clemens rookie card there. Still have it somewhere

Cajuns fried chicken buffet an Sicily's at corner of Florida and Monterrey. Good times " driving into town" after a two a day or a game night.

Not Florida but the McDonald's at Monterrey and greenwell springs used to be happening in the day. That was before central got their own McDonald's

What was the chicken place a few blocks from the Popeyes, within a few blocks of Broadmoor Dollar Theater and the McDonald's on Sharp? They had good biscuits.

Lil John's Barber Shop hooked me up tight on many, many Saturdays. Got that heavy weight line going on, and with my jams on, I must have looked like a bolt of lightning heading back home on my Huffy.

I keep forgetting Anthony’s moved out this way. Place is so damn good. And the people who run it are so nice.

Is Roller City the one close to Denham?

If not what was the name of that one?
It’s a furniture store now

Yes. That’s it. Had a wood floor back in the 70’s if IIRC.

I eat there occasionally when I'm in the area. I just don't work anywhere near there anymore. Anthony’s did a big group order for our neighborhood a few weeks ago and delivered it. Everything was delicious.
