I recall my mother dragging me around The Old America Store, something of a Hobby Lobby of its time, located near the Broadmoor Theater. That same building later hosted a flea market where I purchased slews of baseball cards and bootleg Bart Simpson t-shirts. One shirt featured Bart laying a whoopin' on Saddam Hussein, which speaks to the times.

Yeah, Riano's (no idea if that is the right spelling) was next to Happy Note, behind the McDonald's

Is there still that tiny Italian deli near there? Used to have good spaghetti plates.

Just west of McGehee is a Popeyes. It was built in the 1974-1975 time range. It has always had great food and horrible service. You could order a 3 piece and pay for it. Then they might give you a 3, 2, or 20 piece. You just never knew what was going to be handed out of the window,

We would always go there when they were closing and the girl would give us free food.

Also target used to be on the corner of Cora and Florida.

Anthony's Deli. Down a little strip center between McGehee and Sharp.

They moved and built a new place on Government by Superior maybe 6 or so years ago.

You almost had to know that place was back there or you'd never see it from the street. They had like 3 tables. The new location is much larger and nicer. Food is the same.

Don’t know what that is, but the location you describe was the original Uncle Earl’s.

Just did a google search and it looks like Uncle Earls on Perkins Rd is registered with the ABC under the business name Rianos LLC as of 2006
