Race relations so dumb.

Why is there even a category?

it's a nice card for an admin that may face some opposition

i mean the campaign and those promoting her have really made the overall issue: NBR v. SBR so it's gotten indirectly racial a long time ago

RACE A social construct that artificially divides people into distinct groups based on characteristics such as physical appearance (particularly color), ancestral heritage, cultural affiliation, cultural history, ethnic classification, and the social, economic and political needs of a society at a given period of time. Racial categories subsume ethnic groups.

quote:

WHITE PRIVILEGE
Refers to the unquestioned and unearned set of advantages,
entitlements, benefits and choices bestowed on people
solely because they are white. Generally white people who
experience such privilege do so without being conscious
of it. Examples of privilege might be: “I can walk around a
department store without being followed.” “I can come to
a meeting late and not have my lateness attributed to your
race;” “being able to drive a car in any neighborhood without
being perceived as being in the wrong place or looking for
trouble.” “I can turn on the television or look to the front
page and see people of my ethnic and racial background
represented.” “I can take a job without having co-workers
suspect that I got it because of my racial background.” “I can
send my 16-year old out with his new driver’s license and not
have to give him a lesson how to respond if police stop him.”

It is unreal that the people that developed this document were put in place by the actual mayor of Baton Rouge....I mean imagine if a white mayor put this out slanted the other way....Holy Hell.

The fact that these people are using this as a "source" just goes to show you the level of intellectual dishonesty these hacks will go to in order to justify their despicable, impending actions.

Seriously, that wouldn't pass muster at an 11th grade English class level.

frick these people.

well race relations is contingent on what?

What history does SBR majority have that even equates to racial injustice and discrimation?

It just baffles me how people can treat both sides of the spectrum has if they have equal history. It's factually corrupt and morally dishonest and reprehensible

Race, in certain contexts, is a social construct.

Scientifically:
quote:

The 1775 treatise "The Natural Varieties of Mankind", by Johann Friedrich Blumenbach proposed five major divisions: the Caucasoid race, the Mongoloid race, the Ethiopian race (later termed Negroid), the American Indian race, and the Malayan race, but he did not propose any hierarchy among the races.[51] Blumenbach also noted the graded transition in appearances from one group to adjacent groups and suggested that "one variety of mankind does so sensibly pass into the other, that you cannot mark out the limits between them".[52]

But when you fill out a job application, that gets completely thrown out the door when asked about "race" or "ethnicity". Those weren't "defined" here until much later.

OK, so what current institutional and systemic racism is prevalent or a foundation of SBR?

it's' amorphous so they can drop it whenever they run into an issue

i'm just speaking in terms of the politicking

having that "race card" in your back pocket is always useful when you run into opposition or need a quick support boost

they can legit use it for whatever they need, attention-wise

How great would it be if someone actually asked the Mayor this very question in a public forum? I would love to hear her response.
