If it happens, he could run for Mayor of BR and win easily
The part that kinda baffles me about his demonizing of SG folks is that many pay into a system that they never draw from. Just think of how many people pay for public school with their tax money yet send their kid to private school. As much as he bitches about it, the people of SG are giving even more money to the EBRPSS and don't use dime 1 thus giving it to more poor black students in NBR.

His bottom line is money
Shouting "racism" gets attention
Attention brings in money
Money buys food

Gravy needs white people. White people ignore him and he no longer gets to guilt people into money. If he was a true Marcus Garvey type, he would want SG to happen and then, as someone mentioned, he could be looked up to by his race and only his race. BUT he needs white people and he knows it. He knows Baton Rouge would crumble without a white backbone. He knows it better than anyone. He is the definition of a) have your cake and eat it and b) actually being in love with the person you claim you hate.
SG goes through and his next move will be to absorb some of NBR into it and leave BR high and dry...or the dude will just move.

There has to be a bogey man for these types to flourish.

Precisely. He has too much pride to let folks see him living in SG, but he would totally just move on east to the next and NOLA is a battle than can never be won, but always fought.

I'm surprised he hasn't moved there already.
Seems to be more controversy, money, and racism there than in BR
My guess is he stayed here because of the politics.
But if Ms. Broome would have lost, I think he'd be at Lee circle right now, shooting facebook videos

He's just coming into his own in BR. This was his first real shot at getting in good with a high ranking local official so he's going to see where that takes him first. He's not going to make his way on a transition team then bail. Unfortunately, that gave him some credibility. Hell, even the guy from The BR Business Report even split some cred with him (despite both being on the transition team).

Agree
That's why I said that if Ms. Broome would have lost, he would be out of BR... no one would know who he is
Now that she won and Gravy has a position in the office of the mayor, he's going to ride it out and see how much higher he can go in BR.
We are stuck with him in BR for a while...

Eh, I think he would've stayed. It's FAR easier to play the opposition rather than to defend your side's actions and/or failures.
