The word that matters in her statement is "understandably."
That's a weighted word. It means one or both of these things:
A. The mayor personally has no regard for the investigation and it's clearly laid out facts and wanted charges based on the desires of the black and SJW community.
B. She believes that her constituents have no regard for facts and are irrational.

That woman understands very little correctly. She THINKS she understands. She's in way over her head.

B seems like a safe bet. They vote for people like her and Trudy White after all.

You should be somewhat afraid of the police. For instance, I'm afraid the police might show up to arrest me if I'm flashing a gun at people and possibly shoot me if I fight back when they order me to stop. Therefore, I don't hang around flashing a gun a people and try to fight the police when they tell me to stop.

and too many police afraid of the community.
I wonder why? Someone ought to commission a $2,000,000 study to answer that question. On that note, maybe they can also answer why you rarely, if ever, hear of shootouts with police in neighborhoods like Southdowns

Didn't gather more facts, just played into the racial bias and showed up for his brethren. What a clown of a president he was.

Everyone of these incidents can be traced back to three words.
Failure to comply.
If you think the police are treating you unfairly, then comply, and live to tell about it.
There is absolutely nothing good that will come out of fighting the cops. Why more people don't understand this is one of life's mysteries.

"Many in the community who were hoping and praying for a different decision will understandably be disappointed," she said
Why would "many" hope the cops acted illegally? I can understand family and friends taking his "side" but why should many "hope" the police screwed up?
I for one would be very upset if the police acted in a criminal manner, I'd never want that to be the outcome, and I do not understand how the mayor could say she understands.
quote:
Broome emphasized that the decision does not mean the officers involved "acted appropriately," it just means their actions didn't meet the standard for criminal charges.
Shouldn't Broome be saying if the officers were not following procedures they should be punished appropriately, but also shouldn't she say they deserve a fair hearing?

"Let me speak personally to all those who are angry, frustrated and confused by today's decision: I understand
I need an explanation of why she understands because I do not understand why she or anyone else wants te police to be found guilty of a crime.

She is garbage, like the constituency she panders to. BR is so screwed, even more so than usual.

This does not have to mean we are satisfied with the status quo," Broome added, pointing out her use-of-force policy changes and the fact that the Metro Council recently appropriated more than $2 million for body cameras
Am I missing something, didn't Kip provide the two officers in this incident with body cameras? What am I missing here? Didn't the cops already have body cameras?

Broome speaks to, and uses the power of her office, to address a certain segment of society that feels victimized.
When people act like that, it invites the opposing viewpoint to be just as nasty and hold office as well.
One day, people will realize that people like Broome give us people like Trump, etc.
Bingo.

Because to hell with facts, right
I can assure you that all my prayers are solely for the men and women in uniform who have seen the number of their fellow officers ambushed and killed skyrocket in recent years thanks to bullshite anti-police rhetoric being pushed by people like Mayor Broome.

Get use to it. Baton Rouge will have a black mayor for the rest of eternity. We will be the "new" New Orleans in 20 years when all the old money dies off in this town.

Of course they're understandably disappointed.
They're petulant children who throw hissy bitch fits every time something doesn't go the way their psychotic entitled minds think it should've gone.
