This city spent millions of dollars to build a new daycare for hobos. Of course, it might fall down at any time too

To be fair, public libraries pretty much everywhere are homeless hangouts.

No they are not.
Thanks for the anecdote.

Public _____ has gone to shite in this country.

Not just schools or libraries, anywhere common or public is a shithole.

Baton Rouge is fine. It is just showing the societal decay that is everywhere as there are more economic leaches and governmental theft from the productive to unproductive than can be sustained.

It’s all about to crash down anyway when the debt ceiling is not increased.

I agree. And even if the debt ceiling is increased, it is only prolonging the inevitable.

Get out of the cities.

No other major city has this problem especially NOLA.

Rivals NOLA where a young mother is murdered in the middle of the day with her 1-year-old in the back seat or another mother shot with her 2 kids in the car. These f-cking animals are even going after women with their kids in the car.

We worked at the local library recently and noticed that every worker either had purple hair, weighed 300+, or looked gay. It was like the island of misfit toys.

Hehe...so true. Even in my little town library, which is a county branch, we have this. Last time I visited we now have a "little person" working there. FWIW, she's pretty cute.

I for one like books and thats why I go to the public library...I primarily read fiction at night to slow my brain down before sleep. Sure, I've tried tablets and such, but for me the studies are correct: I need time away from any screens in my face to get sleepy.

Have you ever lived in B.R.?

I did in the early 80s as a kid. I have some great memories. We moved to BR from the Northshore because my dad got a job in BR.

Typical Northshore comments. Yall have just as many drug addicts there too, they just get the benefit of hiding behind trust funds and sugar daddies.

Don’t forget Slidell, or even worse, Pearl River

Every city has good points and bad. All depends on what you decide to focus on.

Baton Rouge has no “nice” area of town. That’s all you need to know. My kids will never go to LSU because Baton Rouge is so bad.

The syntax, lack of proper punctuation, and improper word usage sounds like you’re a 6th grader.

I recently left BR and moved to Texas, mainly due to the supposed safe areas in BR that you could feel comfortable going to have shrunk, along with the fact that there are no signs that it will ever get better.

But my most scariest moments in BR were back in the 80’s when I lived in NBR and a few of my buds lived in Glen Oaks next to Zion City. Had several really close & dangerous calls back then.

Yep, even some of the nice neighborhoods you’re still not in a big enough bubble to have a nice store to shop at and a nice school your kids can go to.

I will steer my kids away as well, we’ve broken the living in Louisiana cycle, don’t want them to get sucked back in

My kids go to the library every month. They get all sorts of books to read that we don’t have to pay for. It is also better than digital books which I hate. I still read physical copies of books.

a Alabama fan from Oregon calling a local tiger fan a racist POS all bc he stated what he saw with his own eyes. So i guess he is suppose to change his story to accomodate more to your style of taste. that is the problem right there. Just because someone speaks about what they saw , people get offended then want to call them a racist POS this from a person who is 2,285 miles away and saw nothing yet decides that this comment is not only racist but also has to include his 2 cents and call the poster a POS. The statement made was from a visual stand point. Your comment is completly wrong, unworthy, unfounded and unreliable. You are more then welcome to make a reply as you did to there statement to voice your opinion on the matter without trying to degrade someone by calling them a racist or a POS was totally unnecessary. Hell thats like saying you are a racist POS for liking Alabama and being on a LSU tigers fan page.
