I'm glad I haven't had to commute on the interstates in this city in 13 years. The surface streets suck too, but I can usually go a different way.

I only use the interstates on nights and weekends. I haven't even see the new configuration yet.

Maybe instead of being a condescending douche, you should try to explain it in layman’s terms. I am not a civil engineer. All I see is a shite ton of construction and money spent and not much results and I’m asking for others’ inputs. Clearly some I-10 users are happy about the change and I am seeking other people’s perspectives. But you won’t even share your perspective, you’ll just call me dense, and feign superiority.

It’s not totally finished/open yet. Let them finish before you shite on it. I rode it today from Seigen and it was great. It’ll be really good when they open the right lane totally going to Acadian.

As an I-12 user, I used to be able to ride the right most lane and move quick. Since the swap I’m stuck on the other side and it takes at least another 10 minutes to get to Acadian.
This. They moved the backup traffic from I-10 to I-12.

?? I12 drivers do not have to cross all the lanes that 10 did

They do right now; most people haven't looked at maps of finished project, they also don't realize that there are other projects that are contributing to the traffic.

For the most part I10 W traffic has significantly improved since before construction started.

See, this is the type of information I appreciate. Knowing it isn’t fully completed yet will buy me some more patience. Others aren’t so kind and just start hurling insults.

No they don’t. There’s no reason for 12 drivers to have to switch lanes if they aren’t getting off at College.

It surprisingly works much better. It eliminated the vehicles on 10 going West from having to cross over against the 12 traffic.

But is that worth 200 million or whatever it cost?

Yes. You have to remember this is part of an entire package of projects that will improve congestion in the area.

12 exiting college has its own exit that doesn’t touch 10 as of Wednesday’s opening but don’t let that stop you from crying

I know there are further plans for this configuration, but right now at college and corporate, it is a total disaster. There are drivers who take the right hand lane that feeds into corporate not realizing this. Then they suddenly wanna make a change to the left-hand lane to continue down college. Total shite show once you get off the interstate.

It really is. People will just sit there waiting to get over backing up traffic to the interstate.

That's due to the failures of the EBR public school system. Most people with a brain can figure it out.

(1) it will remove all of the I-10 traffic bound for the College exit from the travel lanes

(2) it will prevent I-10 drivers from crossing four lanes of traffic to exit at College

(3) it has no effect on I-12 traffic bound for the College exit as the I-10 exit is a dedicated, separate lane and I-12 traffic bound for College still has the ability to travel directly in their right lane to the exit

(4) the dedicated lane for Corporate Blvd will reduce congestion at the Corporate/College light

It’s going to take a few weeks for BR drivers to learn the new system but it’s an overall major improvement for the second largest congestion point in BR.

Can someone explain to me one single positive this swap accomplished?

It allowed JBE to issue a press release right before Election Day.

Now if only we could get that motherfrickin washington street exit closed and have 2-3 lanes coming into BR.
