It's really common everywhere. It is easy to commit and easy to get caught.
I work in healthcare consulting and we often joke that 50% of our clients have been charged with some sort of fraud in the past.

Her husband owns Mato's Oysters. I wonder if business had been bad since covid and she figured this was owed to her in some delusional way? I don't agree with it. Just curious as to motive if their established oyster business was doing well.

The DOJ is so worthless. You have doctors who are bilking medicaid/medicare for hundreds of millions a year in Louisiana and they go after this woman for only $15 million. She must have had some person relationship that went sour with someone in high places for the DOJ to actually move on this.
